Did you know reactions from bee stings could vary from mild to severe? While bee stings are common and could just be mild, there are reactions that call for medical attention. If symptoms don't go away in 3 days or if you have other symptoms of an allergic response you may need to seek help.

This month Redlands Community Hospital celebrates the 40th anniversary of National Park and Recreation Month. This month is a time to get the family outdoors and get active. As we all get outdoors and get some exercise we worry about bug and mosquito bites, here are some tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:

• Always follow product label instructions and reapply as directed
• Do not apply repellent on skin under clothing
• When using sunscreen, apply it before the repellent
• Wear protective clothing such as loose long sleeves and pants and keep children covered
• Cover strollers with protective netting

Redlands Community Hospital is excited to announce a collaboration with the prestigious Mayo Clinic to be part of its Clinical Enhancement Program. This initiative will give our team access to a medical information database on a variety of conditions, printed and video patient education materials, health care consulting, insights and more. These new tools help RCH in its commitment to providing its patients with the highest quality of care.

Today, we honored the incredible generosity of our very own employees—those who donate to help build the Laura & Jack Dangermond Center for Radiation Therapy. 💙

Each gift, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to expanding cancer care for our community. We invited our employee donors to visit the construction site and see the progress they help make possible.

As a small token of our appreciation, we shared coffee, donuts, and a special canvas bag to say thank you.

To every staff member who gives from the heart—this center will stand as a symbol of your compassion and commitment.

As the temperatures rises, heat related illnesses are preventable. Those who are at higher risk include the elderly (65+), children, people with pre-existing chronic conditions, and outdoor workers. If anyone you know falls into those categories, monitor them and watch for signs of a heatstroke. The San Bernadino County Public Health Department recommends the following tips to prevent heat-related illnesses:

- Avoid the sun in peak hours
- Drink plenty of hydrating fluids such as water or low sugar sports drinks
- Avoid alcohol
- Wear light and breathable clothing
- Use sunscreen
- Keep your pets safe
