August 4th was a very special day, it was National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day! Our residents love chocolate chip cookies beyond words so our Baking Committee came together to make some for the community. See here in these pictures how every resident, no matter what level of functionality, can be engaged and involved in the activity. We got Carl mixing the dough, Aida adding in chocolate chips, Jennie rolling out the cookies, and Irene bringing it to the kitchen. There is a joy in realizing that they are still capable to learn! This is what our Enrichment Program is all about.💜🍪

What a sweet moment the residents made making this goodbye poster for our friend Joni who is leaving. They cut out some pictures of wonderful memories that she had here over the years. Then Irene, Lynda, Carole, and others wrote encouraging notes on the poster for Joni's next chapter in life. So grateful to have such a supportive group of people at this facility💜

Welcome baby!

Victoria brought her beloved baby for everyone to meet, Benjamin Gabriel. What a joy he was for everyone to see, especially those residents who once worked as delivery nurses and pediatricians. We got to celebrate and hold Benjamin and just enjoy his company. This was a sweet moment for both our residents and staff and we're glad everyone got to be a part of it.

Have you ever tasted Ube flavor? Well today, our Culinary Committee made something fresh, Ube Cookies! Ube is a sweet potato native to the Phillipines and has a sweet, nutty flavor to it. It was new to all of our residents and some of our nursing students but they all gave it a 10/10! It's so cool being able to bring these exotic flavors for our residents to experience and try.

Welcome to the Blossom Grove Crepe Cafe! Our Culinary Committee brought some French Cuisine to the table and made these delicious sweet French Crepes. They were filled with nutella, bananas, and strawberries. We had staff and residents have a taste test of our creation and they all LOVED it! Nothing could go wrong with some good chocolate spread and fresh fruit🍌🍓🍫

Let's Paint n' Sip! We had a lovely time gathering people from different places to enjoy some good appetizers and laugh as we painted our floral designs. Maybe not everyone has artistic skill but everyone can sure have a good time when there is delicious food and drinks, especially dirty sodas! It's important for us to share new ideas, the latest things that are happening in our communities, and even our struggles as well. So stay tuned for our next event that we have for networks to join!

Happy Trails to you...

This weekend we said goodbye to our very good friend Keith because he is moving to the east coast with his family. We are rejoicing with him, but are sad to see him leave. Keith has been a joy to have at Blossom Grove, from being the Bingo Caller to helping out in the Culinary Committee. He is also a great friend to many of our residents. We are going to miss you Keith but we wish you the very best...💙
