Chorioretinitis is an inflammation of the choroid and retina, which are layers at the back of the eye. It can affect one or both eyes and may lead to vision problems or even vision loss if not treated. It can be caused by infections, autoimmune diseases, or other inflammatory conditions. With early and proper treatment, many cases can improve, but delayed treatment may result in permanent vision damage.

These pictures show the right and left eyes of a patient with diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is an eye condition that affects people with diabetes. It’s caused by damage to the blood vessels in the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. Over time, high blood sugar levels can weaken or block these tiny blood vessels, leading to vision problems and, if untreated, blindness.
