Discover Yoga A space where each student is given an opportunity to explore yoga and its practices in a way that is supportive and adaptable to their particular needs.

Serving Redmond's community since 1997. Discover Yoga, Discover Yourself
Discover Yoga was established in 1997 in the Stonehouse bookstore in Redmond. Since its inception, the teachers and staff have been committed to serving our students through instruction of yoga postures, breathing and meditation techniques as well as the history and philosophy of Yoga. In the tradition of Sri Krishnamacharya,

known as Viniyoga, our instructors have learned to adapt each class to the needs of the students. Viniyoga’s focus on individualised teaching, modifications and adaptations of the poses, and attention to breath provide the opportunity to begin at any level and deepen your practice with each class you attend. Yoga For Every Body
At Discover Yoga we firmly believe that yoga is for Every Body. There are no bodies that aren’t right for yoga, everyone can benefit from the healing, growth and deeper peace that a yoga practice can provide. As well as building strength, flexibility and overall good health in the physical body, yoga also works on the mental, emotional and personality levels to bring greater ease, joy and freedom to your life. The limitations of your physical body should never be a barrier to the health boosting benefits of practicing yoga. You won’t find any one-size-fits-all, cookie-cutter yoga at DY. Viniyoga is all about adapting all of the postures and techniques to the individual student. Each class at our studio is different and reflects the needs of the students practicing in class that day. Our instructors are all trained to adapt and modify the poses to help make them accessible in some form to every student. Some of our students even practice all or part of their class seated in a chair! We can assure you that no matter your age, shape, size, stage of life or level of ability you’ll be able to find classes at our studio that you’ll enjoy and feel comfortable and successful in. What are you waiting for? Our caring, knowledgeable instructors will make you feel right at home, answer your questions and help you find a way to move that is safe and appropriate for your body. New Students can try 2 classes for just $20

Join us for a workshop focused on nurturing self-compassion as a pathway to healing body image issues and enhancing mental health. In a society that often promotes unrealistic standards, it’s vital to cultivate kindness and acceptance towards ourselves.

We will talk about the different kinds of self-image. We will explore why positive embodiment is more important than positive body image and how it's different.

During this time, we will discuss the emotional impact of societal beauty standards, social media and GLP-1 drugs. Together, we’ll create a safe space to share experiences, fostering a sense of community and support.

After the busy summer, come join Kalyani and your fellow practitioners for a couple of hours of meditative practices. A short talk will be given around the nature of the mind and meditation. The rest of the time will be experiential. Meditative experiences will include movement practices accessible to everyone, pranayama, meditative kriyas (energy work involving some combination of breath, sound, and movement), and seated meditation. This will be a wonderful opportunity to find your center and remind yourself of the ways you can return there again and again.

This practice is open to all levels of meditators, whether you need a boost to get back into your regular practice, are looking for some new tools to use, or are brand new to meditation.

Please bring anything you will need to sit on for practice (i.e. a cushion, bolster, or folded blankets). Chairs are also available for those who prefer a chair.

Join us on a transformative journey of healing and deep relaxation, as we bathe every cell of the body in therapeutic sound and vibration. The Gong acoustically elevates us, creating a deep spontaneous meditative state that restores harmony and vitality to the mind, body and soul, leaving you feeling tuned, refreshed and at the height of physical and emotional wellbeing.

The 90-minute event includes a brief discussion on the healing attributes of Planet Gongs, a 62-minute Gong Meditation, followed by sweets and community.

Did you know perimenopause symptoms can start at age 35 or sometimes even younger?
For decades, women have been misled by incomplete research that overlooked the unique aspects of female physiology, particularly when it comes to major life transitions. Much of the advice given to women in the past has been based on extrapolated data from studies primarily conducted on men.

Fortunately, this is changing. Women are now demanding research that reflects their distinct physiological needs, and groundbreaking studies are shifting our understanding of menopause. This new research is revolutionizing everything we thought we knew about metabolism, energy, nutrition, and exercise during this phase of life.

If you’re ready to approach your next transition with science-backed insights that center on women’s physiology—paired with holistic practices proven to support women for centuries—this workshop is for you.

In this 5-week series, we’ll explore:

Cutting-edge science & research: Discover the latest findings on hormonal changes and their impact on metabolism, energy, heart health, and strength.

Ancient wisdom & holistic traditions: Learn time-tested practices that have supported women throughout history, including understanding natural cycles, rhythms, and the healing power of herbs and plant medicine.

Mind-body connection practices: Gain tools to enhance physical, mental, and emotional balance through sleep optimization, breathwork, and movement techniques.

Practical tools & takeaways: Walk away with actionable resources, including nutrition tips, exercise recommendations, and yoga and breathwork practices to continue long after the series ends

A hands-on workshop exploring the connection between food, digestion, and energy through the lens of Ayurveda.

Have you ever noticed how certain foods leave you feeling energized and clear, while others make you feel sluggish or heavy? Ayurveda—India’s traditional system of medicine—has explored these questions for thousands of years. It teaches us that food is not just fuel, but a source of vitality, clarity, and balance.

This workshop invites you to look at food through a new lens—beyond calories and nutrients—to how it truly affects your body, mind, and energy.

Whether you’re new to Ayurveda or looking to deepen your practice, this session will offer practical insights and everyday tools you can apply to your meals right away.
