Earth Day is a great reminder to get outside, move your body, and appreciate what’s around you. 🌍

When you’re out on the trails, a few simple habits can make a big difference—wear supportive footwear, pace yourself on longer hikes, and take short breaks to reset when needed. Uneven terrain and elevation are great for building strength and stability, but listening to your body along the way is key.

And of course, take care of the trails the same way you take care of your body—be mindful, stay prepared, and leave it better than you found it. 🌿💪

Preparing your body for pregnancy doesn’t have to be complicated, but being intentional early on can make a big difference in how you feel throughout the process. 🤰

Dr. Maggie always recommends starting with consistent movement—this doesn’t mean intense workouts, just building a routine you can maintain. Developing awareness around your core and pelvic floor is also key, as it helps support your body as it changes.

And just as important, building strong recovery habits like prioritizing rest, hydration, and sleep. 💪

What you do throughout the day matters just as much. Set a timer every 30–45 minutes to stand up, move around, or do a quick stretch. Even 1–2 minutes of movement can help reduce stiffness and keep your body feeling more energized.

Consistency with small habits will always outperform one intense session at the gym.

HYROX-style training is a great example of what well-rounded fitness looks like—strength, endurance, and the ability to keep moving under fatigue.

From what we see in the clinic, a lot of people train one side of the equation but not the other. They’re either strong but gas out quickly, or they have endurance but struggle with load and control.

The goal isn’t just to train harder—it’s to train more completely. Building strength, improving conditioning, and making sure your body can handle both over time.

If you’re getting into this style of training, focus on pacing, good movement, and recovery just as much as intensity. That’s what keeps you progressing long-term. 💪

Dr. Maggie usually recommends starting with gentle movement first: walking, breathing work, and light core-focused exercise, before progressing into higher-intensity workouts.

Your body has gone through a lot, and rebuilding strength gradually will help you feel stronger, more supported, and more confident as you ease back into activity.

Taking your time now can make a big difference in how you feel long-term. 🤍

Spring is a great time to reset your routine and focus on the habits that actually move the needle. Progress doesn’t come from doing everything perfectly—it comes from showing up consistently, even on the days it feels small. Whether it’s getting outside more, moving your body daily, or getting back into a routine, those small efforts add up over time.

Keep moving. Keep building. 🌿💪

Switching up your routine is one of the best ways to challenge your fitness and keep your body adapting. We always recommend mixing outdoor movement with more structured training to avoid falling into the same patterns.

The Sammamish River Trail is perfect for building endurance, whether you’re running or cycling. Farrel-McWhirter Farm Park adds a different challenge with hills and uneven terrain, which is great for balance and lower-body strength. And if you’re looking for something more structured, 425 Fitness is a great option to focus on strength and conditioning.

Rotating between environments like this helps you move better, build resilience, and stay consistent over time. Start where you’re at and build from there. 💪

This is something I see all the time, especially with people mixing strength training and weekend football. You’re combining sprinting, cutting, and contact with heavy lifts during the week, so your body doesn’t always get enough time to recover.

That “beat up” feeling usually comes from accumulated load, not just one game. If you’re not warming up properly, managing volume in the gym, or taking recovery seriously, it adds up fast.

Simple changes like better warm-ups, mobility work, and spacing out intense sessions can help you feel fresher and perform better when game day comes around. 🏈

Tiny steps through the clinic halls today. 🤍 Grace stopped by the office after ballet, and she’s already making herself right at home.

Between dance class and hanging around the clinic, she might be our smallest team member in training. 💕

It’s incredibly common, especially if you’re sitting for long periods without realizing it. Slouching puts extra stress on your neck, shoulders, and lower back, which can lead to stiffness, tension, and fatigue by the end of the day.

One of the best things you can do is adjust your workspace so your screen is at eye level, keep your feet flat on the floor, and take short movement breaks every 30–45 minutes. Even standing up, stretching, or walking around for a minute can help reset your posture. 🖥️

Small habits throughout the day can make a big difference in how your body feels after hours at your desk. 💪

Spring hiking season is almost here, and it’s one of the best ways to get outside and stay active. 🌿 A few quick tips I always recommend before hitting the trail:
🏔️Start with shorter hikes early in the season to ease your body back in.
🏃Warm up your hips, calves, and ankles before you head out.
🥾Wear supportive footwear with good traction

A little preparation goes a long way toward keeping your body feeling strong and resilient on the trail.
