What a week it’s been at Fairwinds Redmond! From games and storytelling to music, fashion, and meaningful connections, our community was buzzing with fun, laughter, and creativity all week long. Here’s a look back at the special moments that made each day shine:

Tuesday was buzzing with energy at Buzz-In Trivia! Residents put their knowledge to the test and shared plenty of laughs while welcoming our new Activities Assistant, Ally. A fantastic start to a fun-filled week. We’re so glad to have her on the team!

Wednesday’s Photo and a Chat with Francesca was a stroll down memory lane. Residents brought cherished photos and albums to share their stories while enjoying Francesca’s delicious raspberry cheesecake.

Thursday, our Spring/Summer Fashion Show was a huge hit, featuring resident and staff models showing off fabulous seasonal styles. A big thank-you to Pamela from Your Clothing Solutions for providing the outfits and helping our runway shine!

Thursday night, Red Sky Restaurant was the place to be! The Fidgety Feet Jazz Band brought the New Orleans vibe, and there wasn’t an empty chair in the room. From toe-tapping tunes to a lively conga line, the party was a great success.

We wrapped up the week with a truly special moment as senior art students from Bear Creek Christian School returned to present residents with artwork inspired by their earlier interviews. Each piece was thoughtfully created from getting to know each other. A but thank you to Mr Mangin and his five students for volunteering for this project. We wish them all the very best for their graduation and future.

We can’t wait to see what next weeks activities, adventures and events schedule looks like!

Yesterday we had a behind the scenes tour of the Amazon Fulfilment Center in Kent. We were truly amazed by the cutting-edge technology, impressive systems, and the incredible structure that keeps everything running so smoothly. Seeing the innovation behind the scenes was fascinating, and we couldn’t help but feel in awe of it all. A big thank you to the Amazon employees who looked after us and made for an unforgettable experience!

Aw, shucks! Again? We’re blushing!

We’re honored, grateful, and maybe grinning just a little, because when recognition comes directly from the people who call our communities home, it means everything.

We had a wonderful day exploring the light rail today. Our journey started at Bel/Red Station on the 2 Line, crossing Lake Washington up to U District Station. We stopped for coffee and a treat at the UW Bookstore and Fan Shop before heading south on the 1 Line toward Federal Way. From there, we switched back up to the International District/Chinatown station and made our final connection back to 2 Line for the ride home. It was an epic adventure, and we’re so glad to have access to, and feel confident with traveling from Redmond to downtown Seattle, North Seattle, and even all the way to Sea-Tac

Today we welcomed back Karin and Sheri – volunteers with Assistance League of the Eastside - for another meaningful volunteer project. Together our residents worked on assembling survivor kits for individuals receiving care after an assault. These kits provide comfort and essential items during an incredibly difficult moment. In February we created 200 kits, this time, we’re aiming even higher with a goal of 300. A heartfelt thank you to Assistance League of the Eastside and our residents for helping make a difference.

Tonight’s elevated four‑course menu featured smoked salmon bruschetta, perfectly prepared ribeye steak, twice‑baked potato & grilled asparagus, with New York cheesecake to finish on a sweet note
Beautifully crafted by Chef Lee and his talented team, and graciously hosted by Restaurant Manager Sharon, the evening was enhanced with curated wine pairings and thoughtful touches throughout.

This is what community is all about. When the power goes out, we rally together and do whatever we can to make sure everyone is cared for in the best possible way, without letting the outage define the moment. Thank you to our amazing team for your dedication and hard work today. And thank you to our wonderful residents and family members for your patience and understanding. It truly is a great place to live AND work.
