Emerald Heights, sponsored by Emerald Communities, is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) retirement housing and service organization that provides innovative programs which foster culture, vitality and independence. The community is a life care Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that accommodate residents’ changing needs throughout the aging process. Situated on 38 acres in the Education Hill area of Redmond, Wash., just 17 miles northeast of Seattle, Emerald Heights is an amenity-rich senior living community, plus an assisted living facility and a Medicare-certified skilled nursing health center. The campus opened in 1992 to provide housing and service to people ages 55 and older in the aspects of independent, assisted living and skilled nursing.

🌟 Happy Assisted Living Week! 🌟
At Emerald Heights, we kicked off our Ageless Adventure with a fun-filled week of themed celebrations!

🌴 Tropical Monday brought the island vibes, followed by a wild Jungle Tuesday full of excitement.
✈️ Midweek, our residents took us on a journey around the globe, sharing stories of their favorite travel destinations and far-off adventures.
🤠 We wrapped up the week with a cozy campout in the dining room and a lively Rodeo Friday—complete with live music and western fun!

What a week to remember! 💚

The Voices of Our Residents series continues at Emerald Heights with Advice for Future Residents. Residents share the thoughtful steps they took when choosing a community, from researching care services and understanding financial stability, to the realities of downsizing. Many also reflect on timing, with more than a few saying, “I wish I’d done this sooner.”

Their advice is clear: move when you can fully enjoy everything Emerald Heights has to offer — new experiences, friendships, and the opportunity to truly thrive.

Residents recently enjoyed a day at The Center for Wooden Boats, followed by a beautiful sail with Lake Union Charters & Adventures aboard the historic Lavengro, a wooden gaff-rigged schooner built in 1926. It was the perfect evening for exploring Lake Union, learning together, and soaking in the views!

Adventures like this give residents the chance to share meaningful experiences, enjoy new discoveries together, and appreciate the natural beauty all around us.

💙 Giving Back with Hopelink 💙

We are deeply grateful to Hopelink for the work and dedication they provide to our community, and for the time their leaders shared with us during our visit to their headquarters last week. Hearing more about their programs, touring the Hopelink Market, and exploring the ways we can contribute reminded us of the collective impact we can help create.

For more than 30 years, Emerald Heights residents have supported Hopelink’s mission to end poverty, volunteering over 1,600 hours in the past five years and donating more than $200,000 in the last decade. Our residents’ passion for giving back is at the very heart of who we are, and their dedication to serving others continues to inspire us all.
