Cline Falls Counseling

Cline Falls Counseling I use a solution focused approach. The focus is on what the client wants to achieve through therap I welcome your questions or comments about our work together.

The focus is on what the client wants to achieve through therapy. The approach does not focus on the past and stay there, but instead, takes the focuses to the present and future. As a therapist I use respectful curiosity to invite the client to envision her/his preferred future. I believe that people are designed for self healing and that sometimes they need help to start this process. I also incorporate other therapies to tailor the therapeutic experience to the individual and their specific concerns.

During these trying time how do you stay content when the world is in Chaos. Tips to surviving the pandemic with your mental health intact.
1. Focus in on things that you can do instead of things you can't do.
2. Come up with a purpose for the day.
3. Have a schedule.
4. Get outside for at least 30 minutes daily. You can still work in the yard, exercise, go for a walk, walk in your yard.
5. Exercise, There are so many apps and video online that you can find for at home exercise that don't require equipment. "Yoga with Adriene" is one I recommend on youtube.
5. Take this time to learn something new. Learn a new language, if you have a musical instrument learn to play it, take painting or drawing classes. There are online courses, youtube video many are free or low cost.
6. Limit the amount of news you watch. 30 min max in the morning and 30 min max at night is enough. Too much news can can leave your feeling depressed or anxious.
7. Do big jobs around your house that you have put off. Doing a big purge and cleaning out the closets, organize the garage. There projects help you to feel accomplished.
8. Organize a neighborhood help center. Share resources.
9. Take time to cook good food for yourself and family. You have the time to learn some new recipes.
10. Phone calls and video chat with friends and family. Call people you know that live alone. This might be the only voice they hear that day besides their own.
11. Don't spend all your time watching TV and being sedentary. This can leads to boredom and depressive feelings.
12. Play games with friends and family. Either live and in person or online.
13. Gardening and preparing your yard for summer.
14. Use social media to spread joy, happiness, and helpful things, not news information that may trigger someone's anxiety. There is enough news out there we don't need to spread more of it.
15. Pray for the sick, the families that have lost loved ones, your first responders, healthcare workers, the unemployed, friends, family and your government

Make this a time of growth and resilience rather than Stagnation and depression.

Please share what you are doing to make this time a time of growth.

Just a reminder that this is next weekend.

This weekend event will provide an insiders look at First Responder marriages. This is a unique conference specific to First Responders taught by a First Responder couple. We will be tackling the three toughest areas that cause stress in a marriage; communication, s*x, and finances. During our time you will be given several tools and guidance on how to use these tools to strengthen and enrich your marriage. All of this while being served good food, both Friday night and Saturday.

Vic and Nadine Dody have been married 31 years and have raised two daughters. Together they lead the Marriage and Family Ministry at Grace Community Church in Gresham. Vic is a 23 year veteran of a large metropolitan police department. He has had various assignments, and experiences, and is currently a patrol sergeant. Nadine is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in first responder relationships and trauma. She volunteers with West Coast Post Trauma Retreat and Oregon State Crises Intervention Response Team.

Our Story

Cline Falls Counseling started out ten years ago under my name Nadine Dody LPC. For my ten year anniversary of being in my own business, I changed the name of my business to reflex the addition of my second office. I opened my second office at Eagle Crest Resort, Redmond Oregon. I chose this location to support the active lifestyle, being outdoors, nature that I would like to encourage my client’s to embrace. I could have set up in the city limits of Redmond but I couldn’t find a space that could ensure the confidentiality of my client in the small town setting. My office at Eagle Crest provides private parking, a serene setting, and the feeling of having a small vacation when you visit my office. I encourage my client’s to take a walk after session to have a small pause before heading back to their normal life. Eagle Crest provides the space to do just that with the miles of walking paths, golf, bike paths and coffee shop for time of reflection.
