Latest information on Covid-19 and how this will affect the practice of Julie Anderson, LMT at the Physical Justice House of Healing
As an independent therapist, I do not share my treatment room with any other therapist, and I work in a controlled environment with very low traffic. As a massage practitioner licensed by the state of Oregon, I have always been required to adhere to exacting sanitation and hygiene requirements. Although there have been no “new” mandates from the state directed at massage businesses, in response to the recent Covid-19 developments, I have increased the level of sanitation practices, not only in the massage room, but throughout the entire House of Healing premises for everyone’s safety as well as peace of mind.
As a standard hygienic practice, my hands, elbows (and feet) are thoroughly washed and disinfected immediately upon arrival to the office as well as in between each client I treat. As is normal practice as well, face cradles, and tables are sanitized with disinfectant wipes after every client.
Each set of used sheets is wrapped and removed from the room and remains in a sealed container for laundering. Sheets are washed with hot water using Thieves brand laundry detergent with additional germicide as well as vinegar rinsing, so triple protection in laundering is maintained.
Additionally, I am now disinfecting EVERY SINGLE handle in between clients - beginning with the front door and including the toilet handle and faucets as well as light switches and ALL hard surfaces in the office open to the possibility of client contact.
I am, at this time, limiting my practice to 3 clients per day - 3 days a week and scheduling appointments so that there is ample time between for these additional sanitation procedures.
Hot stones and all cupping materials used in treatment are scrubbed with disinfectant and then run through 140 degree water in a dedicated dishwasher load.
Oils used for your session will NOT be shared. A separate container with enough material for your and only your session will be used. A sterile utensil will be used to refill each container - per massage/treatment.
