Don't miss a chance to be inspired by a hero: Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi speaks in Seattle!
I'm incredibly excited that Kailash Satyarthi, a champion for children's rights and Nobel Peace Prize winner, will be speaking at various events in Seattle this weekend!
He is speaking TOMORROW at Microsoft Campus in Building 30 (on the eastside).
Satyarthi's story is one of courage and unwavering determination. Since 1980, he's been a leading force in the global movement to end child slavery and exploitation.
You won't want to miss hearing about his incredible work:
Leading the "Global March Against Child Labor," a monumental effort that spanned 103 countries and covered an astonishing 50,000 miles - nearly twice the Earth's circumference!
It was thismovement that led to creation of the Worst Forms of Child Labour Convention (1999), a landmark piece of legislation that prohibits the most egregious forms of child labor.
He personally led countless rescue operations in home country, India, saving over 100,000 children from exploitation. He and his fellow advocates have faced danger and even lost loved ones in this fight. His himself was injured multiple times during these operations.
Now, Satyarthi is on a mission to "globalize compassion."
He says, “Consciousness is the beginning of social transformation.”
What motivates him?
What fuels his unwavering dedication even after 50 years of unwavering commitment?
What are his hopes for the future of the world?
This is a rare opportunity to learn from a true hero.
