If you started physical therapy with us for a lower quarter injury or if you have received physical therapy anywhere, chances are you have been prescribed these two exercises during your early phase of rehab.
While these are basic exercises, they establish fundamental movement patterns that carry on through the rest of your rehab journey.
As such it is important that you perform these exercises correctly.
Hip abduction: performed to engage the glute med primarily, make sure your pelvis stays stacked, your knee and foot does not rotate out and your legs move slightly behind your torso
Clams: performed to engagement the glute max primarily, make sure your pelvis stays stacked, and your pelvis does not rotate out with the knee as you execute the movement.
