🌞 Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms out there! 🌻 As a massage therapist, I’m reminded of the nurturing touch and unwavering support that moms provide, including my own mom who teaches me so much about unconditional love and positive touch throughout my life. To all the moms, especially my own, thank you for being the sunshine in our lives! 💆‍♀️💖 ☀️

Witness the healing power of lymphatic drainage🌿! In just one week, inflammation and bruising in the hamstring have visibly reduced. Lymphatic drainage aids by optimizing lymph flow, promoting tissue repair, and then some!💆‍♂️

Top 5 benefits ❤️‍🩹
1. **Reduced Swelling:** Lymphatic drainage massage helps to decrease fluid retention, alleviating swelling in various parts of the body.

2. **Improved Circulation:** By enhancing lymphatic flow, the massage contributes to better blood circulation, promoting overall cardiovascular health.

3. **Detoxification:** It aids in the removal of toxins and waste products from tissues, supporting the body’s natural detoxification processes.

4. **Enhanced Immune System:** Lymphatic drainage supports immune function by facilitating the movement of lymphocytes and other immune cells throughout the body.

5. **Injury Recovery:** Accelerates healing by reducing inflammation and promoting tissue repair, making it beneficial for post-injury recovery.

Remember, individual responses to lymphatic drainage massage can vary, and it’s essential to consult with a healthcare professional before seeking any specific therapeutic interventions.

Hey fascia Friends,
I hope you're doing well! I wanted to share some news about my return to work after my recent surgery. The good news is that the surgery went well, but there were a few unexpected complications during my recovery. That's slowed things down a bit, but I'm on the mend now.
I'm excited to let you know that I'll be back in action on October 2nd, offering 60-minute sessions to start. I'll play it by ear and see how I feel before going back to my regular schedule. I promise to keep you posted on any changes.

To schedule your appointments, you can hop over to my website or use the Vagaro app. Your patience and understanding mean a lot to me during this time, and I can't wait to see you again! If you have any questions or need help with scheduling, feel free to reach out. I appreciate your support more than you know. Looking forward to catching up soon!

Change is a Coming

If I made your stomach drop a bit, well then, good on me, hehe. I want to make sure everyone knows of some major changes taking place in the new year. I am absolutely thrilled about the exciting development that will transform my business. I urge everyone to take note of the details that were shared, as they are sure to bring about some major improvements.

Welcome To

I am delighted to announce that I am moving on to a better and more efficient system. 2022 has been a whirlwind of activity, and I anticipate 2023 to be just as busy. With this hectic pace, I have found it difficult to give all of my amazing clients the attention they deserve with their questions, scheduling issues, and other needs. This is why I am so excited to be transitioning to Vagaro. I am confident that this new system will bring many advantages, though there may be a few bumps in the road as we adjust. Let's take a look at the good and the no so fun stuff.

The Good

I'm so excited to tell you about the Vagaro App ( I highly recommend you download it on Apple (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/vagaro/id536110000) or Google (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vagaro&hl=en_US&gl=US&pli=1) ) - it's a game-changer for managing our appointments!

- You can easily check your upcoming appointment time without having to text or ask me, so it saves us both time.

- There is an automatic waitlist, so if you're hoping for a specific date and time that isn't available, you can add your name to the list and you'll automatically get notified if someone cancels.

- Vagaro is HIPPA-compliant, so all of your information is kept safe and secure, and your treatment notes, intakes, and appointments are all synced together. This might be more exciting for me, but this streamlining is going to help our sessions!

New Site
Along with my new schedule and checkout system, I am launching a new website for my business, Gettys Muscle Therapy. The website will have the same name and address, but with a cleaner look.
Check it out in the new year.

The Not-So-Fun Part
Like anything worth doing, there is always a price of admission. I was unable to transfer over client intakes, SOAP notes, and cards on file. So, everyone will need to submit new general and covid intake forms, along with providing cards on file for easy checkout. While it may be inconvenient, I am confident that this step will help us create a streamlined system and I am excited to see the results of this effort.

Niching More and More

Today is the winter solstice, which usually is a time to reflect on the past and plan ahead for the coming year.
I have been reflecting a lot on my journey in bodywork and it has been an incredible experience. I started out in spas and then moved to sports massage, but now I have been niching more and more with neuromuscular and myofascial therapy. I have found a passion in rehabilitative therapy and I am so grateful for the opportunity to help others.

However, I feel that many clients are still relying on me to fix their soft-tissue problems, rather than taking the necessary steps to help themselves. I cannot stress this enough: what you do at home for your body every day is much more important than anything I do for you in a treatment session. I want clients to see me more like Mary Poppins. She flies in with her umbrella, helps guide Jane and Michael, and then when they are all better, she moves on to the next, (and I say this with all the love in my heart), problem child. With this in mind, I am going to be switching my treatment models, even more, pushing myself and pushing clients to be progressive in their soft tissue recovery. I hope everyone can see the benefit to their health with these changes and will continue on this journey with me.

Happy and safe holiday season to you and yours!

Once there was a tree, and she loved all the generous gift-givers.

We've been waiting all year for this season, Pam most of all. And finally, it's here! We just put up the giving tree last night & it's every bit as beautiful as we imagined it would be :)

Once again, we will be celebrating the holiday with a “Giving Tree," in collaboration with SpcaLA. (https://spcala.com/)

The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Los Angeles is an independent, nonprofit animal welfare organization serving Southern California since 1877.

You will find below a list of their most URGENT needs. Bring in one item from the list (MUST BE NEW, and UNOPENED) and pick a present from our Giving Tree.

Prizes range from discounted services, samples, products, and of course, a complimentary massage.

SpcaLA is in urgent need of the following items

*Clay, non-clumping cat litter

*Dog chews for enrichment
*Canned kitten, cat, puppy, & dog food (HIGH PRIORITY)
*Dry kitten, cat, puppy, & dog food
*New blankets, towels, stainless steel dog/cat bowls,
*Gift certificates (Staples, Amazon, etc.)
*Kuranda beds
*NEW Dog toys
*NEW Cat toys

We will be accepting donations from December 1st - December 31st.

Not for the Furry Friends

Are you still looking for stocking stuffers, a sure-to-be sought-after white elephant gift, or just need an idea for a special someone?

Foam rolling tools can really be the perfect present for another or your own self-care. Think of these little helpers as extensions of my elbows :)

My top three might look like a fun chew toy, but they actually can be the most resourceful way to effectively roll out and pining trigger points from head to toe.

The Orb (https://amzn.to/3G6Yy7z) mini extreme - My go-to foam rolling ball. The only tool that can get into those tiny joint areas

The Beastie (https://amzn.to/3d8OVbO) - For those who've graduated from the Orb, this li 'l beast will really sink into overdeveloped tissue and trigger points.

and now... MY FAVORITE NEW TOOL FROM 2022

Neck Massager (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B2RCR9KP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1) - this thing is nifty! Its the first neck massager that allows you to trigger point and roll up and down to target all of your neck muscles!
(Hint - there may be a few of these under the giving tree)

Just be sure your furry loves don't get their teeth on them :)

If none of the self-care tools float your holiday boat there are always my TaraSpa neck pillows that will warm your recipient's hearts and necks :)

Ask me about them the next time your in the studio :)

Happy Holidays!
