We hear a lot about the vestibular system when it comes to sensory integration—and for good reason! 🌪️ 🚴‍♂️🎢 It plays a huge role in how we move, balance, and feel grounded in our bodies. Whether it’s swinging, spinning, or just changing head position, this system is constantly working behind the scenes to keep us upright and organized.

The scooter board is one of our favorite items to use in the clinic. They’re more than just fun - they offer a great deal of proprioceptive and vestibular input to help build strength, coordination, body awareness and more. Action packed play with a purpose!

We have been grateful to have an incredible Doctoral Capstone Student, Raine, join us from Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) this Spring. Over the past few months, Raine has been working with our families to understand communication best practices with caregivers in the pediatric setting. Congratulations to Raine for presenting her research findings -- Caregiver Perceptions of Communication Practices in Occupational Therapy. She is pictured with her KGI mentor Kelly Auld-Wright OTD, OTR/L. Thank you Raine for your contributions to playSense and the OT profession. Best of luck with your future! 💙

Jillian has been a valued member of the playSense team since 2023. Jillian is passionate about putting the FUN in FUNctional to support a child's participation in activities they find meaningful while empowering parents and caregivers. Jillian received her Doctorate and Master's degrees from the University of Southern California. Her favorite occupations include spending time with her family and visiting the beach.

We were proud to watch our playSense founder Dr. Annie Baltazar Mori accept her FAOTA award at this year's AOTA Conference. As a part of the AOTA Roster of Fellows, she now joins a prestigious group who have made significant contributions to the Occupational Therapy profession.
