South Bay Birth offers individualized midwifery care tailored to meet the unique needs of each client and family that we serve. We believe that birth is a normal physiological event, yet deeply unique to each birthing person and baby. Your midwife honors birth as the enormous transition that it is, while providing quality evidence informed maternity care. South Bay Birth strives to integrate both alternative and western modalities with an understanding of herbs, nutrition and perinatal psychology.

We believe that midwifery care is the most appropriate and safest model of care for low risk pregnant people during pregnancy, labor, birth and the postpartum period. Furthermore, great care is dependent upon building a foundation of mutual trust and understanding between the pregnant person and the midwife. We practice informed consent and shared decision making for all standard tests and procedures, and then ask you to decide for yourself what is most appropriate for you. Lastly, each pregnant person, family and community is best served when care is provided without prejudice - South Bay Birth embraces diverse families of all shapes and sizes, and the unique needs of each family and client we serve.
