TGIF - Let's blow some bubbles and reach for the sky! 🌬️🌟

Creating a bubble mountain is as easy as can be - just mix dish soap and water, grab your straws or pipes, and let the fun begin! πŸ›πŸ’¦

Challenge your friends and see how high you can build your bubble mountain - it's not just fun, it's a fantastic self-regulation activity that keeps everyone engaged and focused.

Let's blow off some steam and aim for the tallest bubbles that touch the sky! πŸžοΈπŸ’¨

πŸŽ‰βοΈ Vestibular and Proprioceptive Input are the DYNAMIC DUO!

So what are vestibular input and proprioceptive input?

πŸ‘‰ Vestibular input is movement input. This input helps us develop balance coordination and body-spatial awareness and can act as a mood booster. If you need to calm down you can try slow, rhythmic rocking. If you are seeking input try fast jerky spinning movement to help fill up your sensory bucket.

πŸ‘‰ Proprioceptive input is called β€œheavy work” which means activities that compress the muscle and joint spaces or pull apart muscles and joint spaces. Think jumping, hanging, pulling, pushing. Heavy work activities are always good they help you regulate, get organized and feel grounded.

We like to use movement input and heavy work activities together to get the best results. All of these fun activities use the dynamic duo!!

Try this out and you will see why this works!

🌟 Crossing The Midline Challenge! πŸ’ͺπŸ—οΈ

Crossing the midline is vital to the development of using both sides of the body together, such as putting on shoes and socks, writing, and cutting.

It promotes the coordination and communication of the left and right hemispheres of the brain. This requires postural control and trunk rotation skills.

We love this activity to help eliminate those compensations. πŸš€ Watch how a block tower next to a child can add a visual cue to remind your kiddos to practice trunk rotation without leaning!

✨ TGIF - Get outside and put your creativity, balance, and coordination to the test by building your own obstacle course!

This is a great way for your family to have some fun and give your kiddos the freedom to do their own thing.

Are you going to try this this weekend? πŸ‘‡πŸŽ‰

TGIF - We're hanging on to that weekend feeling! β˜€οΈπŸŒˆ

We love using the zipline because it's a great way for the kiddos to get in some vestibular input!

What is vestibular input? Anytime your head tilts to the side goes upside down, or spins, this activates your vestibular system. The vestibular system tells us where we are in space and develops our balance and coordination so that we can run, jump, swing and tumble.

Swings and trapeze bars allow movement input that kids need to develop skills. Fast-moving rotary input is alerting and revs up your system.

PLUS, smiles and laughter are guaranteed!! 🀩

We think he might almost be ready for his license! πŸš—πŸ’¨

All you need for this one is masking tape and a car and you're on your way to developing visual motor skills.

What are you waiting for? Hit the road! βœ¨πŸŽ‰

Why are ball pits SO much FUN? 🀩🎈

Did you know that sensory ball pits give children visual and tactile feedback, providing the β€œbuoyancy” of water without the mess? They offer the opportunity to jump, roll, crawl, balance and burrow!

Ball pits provide sensory stimulation and are the best option, next to water, for sensory exploration and strengthening body awareness.

AND, they are a guaranteed mood booster - watch out for squeals and smiles!

Always remember - the steeper the hill, the more breathtaking the view from the top! 🌟πŸ’ͺ

Ropes are a great tool for development of bilateral coordination skills. Pulling on a rope allows kiddos to work both sides of the body in an activity - this is called bilateral coordination!
