Relax and Rejuvenate….Spa Day!!
We all enjoyed a good day and together made it a beautiful day, started with a neighbor stroll to the local shopping center, weather was in high 70’s. Rejuvenated our “soles” and “souls” at our services included a tropical botanical pedicure consisting of infused mineral water, sugar scrub, lotion massage, warm towel treatment and a hot stone massage.

Off to the Hairsalon we go! Something about a haircuts makes ya feel good and our resident came out feeling just that way and looked even better. Thank you for a quick easy feel good stop.

Next stop a local neighborhood favorite . We all enjoyed a feast for Kings (and Queens) with a table situated on their outdoor patio in the perfect mix of sun and shade.

It was sunset when we decided to stroll back to facility the sunset backlight the tall redwoods and the abundant spring flowers was evident with every warm breeze. One last stop on the way home at the “corner yogurt shop” uniquely named with (choices for all dietary restrictions) a perfect way to end a perfect day.

The “golden years” are more like the “platinum years” when spent at 💝

Happy Easter to all!! 🐣 This beautiful spring day filled our hearts with happiness as we walked through our neighborhood of blooming flowers and embraced the warmth of fresh air. The sight of numerous people enjoying nature and our friendly neighbors reminded us how wonderful life can be when lived positively.

Healthy Hobbies for Older Adults

To maintain good health, older adults must stick to a nutritious diet, take on mental challenges, get regular exercise, and be social. There are numerous hobbies seniors might enjoy that enable them to stimulate the brain and get beneficial exercise. Some also provide the chance to socialize with others.

Crafting

There is an abundant variety of crafts that seniors enjoy. Some prefer crocheting, knitting, and needlework, while others paint, sculpt, or take pictures. Working on crafts stimulates the brain in different ways. The brain is busied with hand/eye coordination along with problem-solving skills. Craft-making is good for arthritic hands, as the activity encourages fine motor skill exercise. After completing a project, seniors can also enjoy a sense of accomplishment.

Gardening

The bending, stretching, and other physical activities required while gardening are a wonderful means of getting exercise. Fine and large motor skills are put through their paces. The physical movements required when gardening also increase balance. Many find caring for flowering or vegetable plants brings a sense of calmness, which alleviates stress. The mental and physical activities involved also stimulate the brain.

Playing Games

Whether enjoying board games, card games, or video games, all of these activities are great for stimulating the brain. Playing games requires critical thinking, strategizing, and problem-solving skills. Games typically require some type of manual manipulation of cards, game pieces, or video components, which boosts hand/eye coordination and fine motor skills.

We had a nice celebration we all participated in making a double decker heart shaped cake yes flour was flying egg shells amongst us sugar everywhere what a great memory and what fun.
She invited a handful of friends to celebrate her favorite pass time with a bridge game a big charcuterie board that included fresh fruits and salads.
