☕❤️ Best coffee run ever!

Visited Andy's Cafe in San Jose yesterday and got to sample four amazing drinks made by our AbilityPath employment team — Michelle, Jimmy, Wesley, and Aaron. These folks are talented, proud of their craft, and absolutely crushing it behind the counter! 👏✨

A huge thank you to our incredible job training coaches — Maria, Adam, Jessica, and April — who show up to mentor, encourage, and cheer our team on. 🙌

And kudos to Tony, Joe, and Anna for building something truly special. Andy's Cafe is more than a coffee shop, it's a social enterprise creating real jobs, real paychecks, and real belonging for neurodivergent teens and adults. 💙

We need more places like Andy's Cafe. If you're in the San Jose area, go grab a coffee, say hello, and support this incredible mission. Every cup matters. ☕

Way to go, team! 🎉

We're proud to support SB 969! 💙

This bill, authored by Senator Gómez Reyes, would make remote services a permanent option for Californians with intellectual and developmental disabilities, giving individuals and families the choice to participate in ways that work best for them.

SB 969 doesn't require remote services or replace in-person programs. It simply protects choice — the heart of person-centered support and the promise of the Lanterman Act.

For the families we serve every day, flexibility means access. And access changes lives.

During Volunteer Appreciation Week (April 19–25), we extend our deepest thanks to the many individuals who generously give their time, energy, and compassion to AbilityPath. Our volunteers play an essential role in supporting programs, enriching experiences, and helping create a welcoming community for the individuals and families we serve.

We are especially grateful for the incredible dedication of the AbilityPath Auxiliary, whose impact has spanned more than 75 years. Through fundraising, social events for adult participants, and ongoing support in our programs, the Auxiliary brings joy, connection, and meaningful experiences to those we serve year after year. Auxiliary members contribute thousands of volunteer hours annually—demonstrating an enduring commitment that continues to shape and strengthen our community.

To all of our volunteers, thank you for showing up, giving back, and making a difference every day. Your generosity and care are felt in countless ways across AbilityPath.

Creativity has always been part of AbilityPath—but something new is taking shape.

Our reimagined Creative Arts Program is expanding what’s possible. With more ways to explore different art forms and more individualized support, participants can build skills, express themselves, and grow in their own way—at their own pace.

We’re also excited to welcome Art Program Director Taylor Buttrey, whose experience in community-based arts will help bring new opportunities for connection, creativity, and engagement.

This program reflects something bigger: creating meaningful experiences that support people across a lifetime—through creativity, confidence, and community.

There is no “one size fits all” to Autism (and with no disability for that matter). This month and everyday, we continue to ask curious questions, listen deeply versus making assumptions, and advocate for inclusive spaces everywhere. Everyone deserves a world where they can be themselves 🦋

🚨 San Mateo County needs your voice — RIGHT NOW.

Over 250 leaders rallied today in Redwood City with one urgent message: Sacramento owes us $157 million — and they need to pay up. 💰

This isn't a request for extra money. It's money our county is *legally entitled to* — funding that supports public safety, health services, housing, schools, and nonprofits. While 55 other California counties receive their full Vehicle License Fee funding, San Mateo County is being left out in the cold. If Sacramento doesn't act, we lose over $1 BILLION over the next decade. 😤

That's real harm to real people — our neighbors, our families, our community.

👉 Contact Governor Newsom and your State legislators TODAY. Tell them: pay what you owe, San Mateo County.
