Cleaning out the studio and finding some wonderful props I had totally forgotten about. Sometimes people are too young to remember things I remember...like Pogo and Albert. Anybody but me remember Bullwinkle? I found a salt fired sculpture of a Bulldog named Hoss...anyone remember Hoss? My favorite Cartwright. I will post him soon. Plus a pug punch bowl set I had forgotten I had.

I just found out there will be another salt firing mid August, so I guess I will be sculpting...if there is anything you would like to see, just let me know and I'll see what I can do. Still brain dead from the last show, but I know inspiration will return....thinking maybe a few more dinosaur musicians...and of course some pugs, bulldogs and Frenchies...I still have some wonderful vintage props/toys.

Helen and Allen Weichman have been creating handmade pottery together in their Poconos Mountains, PA studio since 1973. They make functional dinnerware and animal sculptures, finding continual inspiration from the dogs, cats and parrots living with them.

The line of serving ware includes nut bowls with a separate compartment for shells, the “Bageggler” used to make perfect microwaved eggs for bagel sandwiches. They also have an assortment of animal-themed teapots and soup tureens.

Helen has a series of dogs doing yoga as well as giraffes, manatees, elephants, cats and vultures. They do custom orders such as animal sculptures created from pet photos.
