Dr. Garret Tesman, a Family Medicine provider at RAMC was recently recognized for Going Beyond the Expected. He was nominated by Trisha Anderson.
Trisha wrote - “Recently, we had a resident in our CBRF who was showing and verbalizing many symptoms, none of which were consistent with the other, and with basic labs and imaging, showed "nothing was wrong". On his day off, Dr. Tesman took a few hours out of his day and called the facility, followed-up with the nursing staff and well as with the resident. Based on the telephone triage and nurse report, Dr. Tesman gave orders to send out to ER for further evaluation and treatment. Dr. Tesman then worked with the ER providers and nurses so the resident was able to have a more in-depth work up. This lead to him being admitted and receiving the care that was needed, but otherwise not easily detected. Dr. Tesman did what every resident deserves, which is to be heard, understood, respected, and trusted that something is wrong, but what is on paper is not matching the person sitting in front of the doctor. He is not only a wonderful addition to our RAMC family, but a wonderful advocate for one of our most vulnerable populations in our Reedsburg community. Thank you Dr. Tesman!”
