We were proud to host the HOSA State Leadership Conference competitions at Reedsburg Area Medical Center for the second year!

Students from across Wisconsin put their skills to the test in Medical Assisting and Respiratory Therapy while our RAMC team members volunteered as judges, patients, and mentors, helping support the next generation of healthcare professionals. We’re honored to play a role in inspiring and preparing future healthcare professionals right here in our community.

Reedsburg Area Medical Center joined hospitals across the country today in honoring the gift of life. As part of National Donate Life Month, we raised the Donate Life flag and paused for a moment of silence to recognize organ, tissue, and eye donors—and the families who made these life-saving gifts possible. One donor can save up to 8 lives. Right now, more than 108,000 people are waiting for a transplant, including over 1,600 here in Wisconsin.

We invite you to take a moment to reflect, learn more, and consider registering as a donor at donatelife.net.

✨Team Member Spotlight ✨

Today we’re shining a light on Charlie Lee, Pharmacist at RAMC.

When asked what the most rewarding part of being a pharmacist is, he shared: “The most rewarding part is the impact that we have upon the residents of Reedsburg that we serve. It’s not just talking about their medications, but developing relationships, developing rapport and developing lasting relationships. Because the stronger the relationship, the better we can serve our patients. They feel more open. They feel like they’re talking with a trusted member of the family with expertise in medication, so they don’t have to feel timid. So that’s what I find very rewarding…that we are the access point. We are a resource that we serve for our patients with regards to our medications.”

We’re so grateful for the expertise and compassion he brings to our patients and our community every day.

Shannon Coakley, Physician Assistant at the Walk-In Care, was recently recognized for Going Beyond the Expected. She was nominated by Deb Rego and Tammy Rockweiler.

Deb and Tammy wrote - “We had a blizzard on 03/15 and 03/16 and Shannon was not scheduled to work until 03/16. She noted that a staff member from Madison was working the 03/15 shift and reached out to that provider to relieve her so that she could make it home to her family with a child under one. Shannon stayed at the Holiday Inn so she could work the next day as she lives over an hour away. She made sure that the staff person was home safe, worked the rest of that person's shift and came in during the blizzard the next day! She went beyond the expected for her coworkers and community to make sure that staffing was covered and coworkers were safe.”

Thank you for all you do, Shannon!

Today, Thursday, April 2, we proudly recognize National Autism Acceptance Day.

Our Reedsburg Area Medical Center staff came together in a meaningful way—wearing Autism Acceptance t-shirts featuring the handprints of some of our incredible pediatric patients. Each print is a reminder of the unique strengths, personalities, and joy these children bring to us every day.

Thanks to the support of our staff and community, we sold 265 shirts! Proceeds will go directly toward purchasing new sensory play items to enhance therapy experiences for our pediatric patients—helping us create even more engaging, supportive, and inclusive environments for growth.

We’re grateful to be part of a community that celebrates differences, promotes understanding, and shows up with heart!

Reedsburg Area Medical Center Birth Center was thrilled to receive another generous donation of books from the Reedsburg Education Association (REA)! For more than 25 years, REA has helped welcome our newborns with the gift of reading.

Together, RAMC and REA encourage parents to start reading to their babies from the very beginning—building a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

Thank you, REA, for your continued support and dedication to our community’s youngest learners!

✨Team Member Spotlight ✨
Today we’re shining a light on Kasey Miller, a Certified Nurse Midwife at RAMC.

When asked what inspired her to go into women’s health and midwifery, she shared: "My passion for women’s health care started when I was in the military and after giving birth to my own children. While in nursing school, I found my calling in labor & birth. Through my time as a labor & delivery nurse, I knew becoming a midwife was my calling. As a nurse midwife, I provide care for women through all stages of life from the first period to menopause. I have particular interest in labor & birth, prenatal/postnatal care and caring for women after pregnancy loss. I am excited to work in the Reedsburg community and to build relationships with patients here."

We’re so grateful for the expertise and dedication she brings, caring for patients through pregnancy and women’s health every day. 💙
