Don’t Sit, Get Fit

Do you like basketball? Want to jump, run and move like your favorite players? Well, the key is to train like they do. Professional athletes have very intense workouts, and often workout for 5+ hours per day, every day. But we don’t need to go that far. A quick workout with these moves once or twice a week shown below will give you an edge over your friends in the playground if you stick to it.

1) Squat Jumps - Do 10 of these and then rest 30 seconds. Repeat 3 times.
2)Lateral Lunge - Do 10 of these on each side. Repeat 3 times.
3)Single-leg hop - 30 hops with only 1 leg on the floor. Watch your balance! Do 30 on each leg. Repeat 3 times. Very similar to hopscotch!

You can do these at home, in the park, or in a basketball gym.

1)Eat fruits and vegetables daily
2)Eat whole grains like cereal, pasta and bread, it gives you energy
3)Drink milk, you need calcium for strong bones and teeth
4)Protein helps your body focus and work properly. Eat nuts, bananas, and eggs, they are filled with protein.
5)Exercise at least 2 hours per week. Physical activity makes muscles stronger, gives energy,and helps sleep better.
