🟢 Exercise has successfully concluded 🟢
On April 22, 2026, Rockingham County Emergency Services will participate in a mock emergency scenario as part of a coordinated training exercise involving local first responders and critical infrastructure partners.
The drill will take place along NC-65 as well as areas in the vicinity of Annie Penn Hospital. In these areas, you may see numerous emergency vehicles related to the exercise.
There is no cause for concern. This training exercise is designed to help first responders strengthen coordination and response capabilities in the event of a real emergency.
Residents are asked to refrain from calling 9-1-1 regarding emergency vehicle activity associated with this drill. Please use 9-1-1 only for true emergencies.
If an incident were to take place, requiring public notification, information would be shared through local media , RoCo AlertNow, and Wireless Emergency Alerts to your mobile device.
