Their compassion, dedication, skill, and leadership make a lasting difference in the lives of countless Nevadans. We are grateful for the opportunity to recognize and thank this noble profession for all they do to strengthen Nevada’s healthcare system.

Collaboration in action! Earlier this week, Northern Nevada Health System joined regional partners for a large-scale mass casualty simulation at Reno-Tahoe International Airport.

Exercises like these are critical in strengthening coordination, refining response efforts, and ensuring we’re ready when our community needs us most.

Regional Vice President Karla Perez was a featured panelist during the Latin Chamber of Commerce Nevada's April luncheon featuring health care leaders, sharing insights on continually improving access to care, patient safety and operational efficiencies.

Karla has worked in the Las Vegas health care community for more than 40 years, beginning her career in 1983 as a medical records clerk at Valley Hospital. Through the years, she assumed a wide range of duties, from business development to hospital operations to serving as CEO for both Desert Springs and Spring Valley Hospitals.

As the Regional Vice President, she provides oversight to all our hospitals in Las Vegas, Henderson, Pahrump, Sparks and Reno, which also includes freestanding emergency departments, outpatient services and physician practices. Additionally, she serves on the Advisory Board for Nevada State Bank and Board of Trustees for the Vegas Chamber and Nathan Adelson Hospital. She has received numerous honors over the years, including several corporate awards for achievement of excellence and commitment.

We’re so grateful for her leadership and the impact she continues to make every day.
