Now scheduling appointments for Regenerative Medicine

Hello to all of our wonderful customers!

The rumors are TRUE!

We are now offering and scheduling for our Regenerative Medicine services which include: trigger point injections (TPIs), natural pain injections, PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma), and human cellular tissue therapy (stem cells).

What are these things, you might ask? Well, let us share the best-untold secret!

Trigger Points are areas within your muscles that are damaged due to overuse or trauma such as a strain. When the muscle cannot contract and relax normally because the tissue is damaged, this will cause pain and decreased function, sometimes at the site of the trigger point, and often radiating to other areas. By using a small needle to inject a solution directly into the trigger point, this can break up that fibrous tissue and allow the muscle to function correctly, reducing pain and improving function.

The solution used for TPI will include a numbing medication and may also include an anti-inflammatory to reduce pain at the area and break up the fibrous tissue that develops due to damage. Scheduling for a trigger point injection is easy. Call or schedule online to feel fast relief and improve the range of motion or help adjustments to hold better.

This can also be done with PRP which will additionally provide growth and healing
factors to the damaged tissue and promote muscle tissue repair.
PRP is platelet rich plasma-- it is derived from your blood by drawing a blood sample from you and using a centrifuge to separate out the platelets which are then re-injection into areas of damaged tissue. Platelets contain hundreds of growth factors that are critical for healing, by injecting a concentrated serum of your own body’s platelets, PRP delivers high volume growth factors directly into the tissues to help amplify natural healing.

Wharton’s Jelly is a donated Human Cellular Tissue/Product (HCT/P) that is derived from umbilical cord tissue. The cellular components of Wharton’s Jelly have been found to be an incredible medium to activate and amplify your body’s cellular regenerative capacity, particularly in regards to musculoskeletal injuries. The cellular components work together to bring optimal healing by reducing inflammation, hydration, and tissue regeneration to the area of injury. At Boost, we utilize Wharton’s Jelly because it has the highest concentration of
Mysenchymal Stem Cells (Stem Cells), Growth Factors, Collagen, Hyaluronic Acid and Anti- Inflammatory cytokines.

What can you expect?

You will complete a free intake with a Boost Team Member and have a
consultation with our nurse practitioner (Lindsay) to review the options and discuss what may be the most beneficial. The team will then review your history, functional limitations and goals and provide recommendations for your course of treatment. Once the recommendations have
been made, you’ll review them with a team member to go over the protocols and get
scheduled!

We are working this week to schedule our current list...if you have not received a call yet please let us know.

Do you have questions or need more information?
Please contact us at patientsupport@drlynellemcsweeney.com

Regenerative Therapy and Pain Management at Boost

What is Regenerative Therapy?

The name is a clue—regenerative medicine, or stem cell therapy, is focused on regenerating tissues that have been damaged instead of focusing on treating the symptoms of that damage, which is the current clinical strategy. So what exactly does that mean?
Stem cells are what the Mayo Clinic calls “the body’s raw materials—cells from which all other cells with specialized functions are generated.” These are our primordial cells, and they’re unique because they can divide to become either new stem cells or specialized cells, including those used in the blood, brain, bone, or muscles of the heart. No other cell shares this unique ability, which is why stem cells are the cornerstone of regenerative medicine. They can be guided into becoming specific cells, which means they can help regenerate and repair specific tissues in people who have experienced damage or disease.
Our stem cells are how our bodies repair themselves, grow and develop, fix injuries, and maintain the body by replacing cells as they die. But stem cell production slows with age. We effectively use them up, and they simply aren’t able to regenerate as quickly as they did when we were young.

Regenerative Therapy can be used to target damaged tissues, particularly musculoskeletal injuries that cause pain and/or decreased function. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Wharton’s Jelly are products used at Boost. These can be directly injected into joints and muscles with damage to promote healing directly at the site and can improve pain and function in a very minimally invasive procedure.

Who needs a Boost!?

The Benefits of B Complex: Unlocking the Power of the B Vitamins

B vitamins play a crucial role in supporting our overall health and well-being. These essential nutrients are often referred to as the "B complex" because they are a group of eight distinct vitamins that work synergistically to perform various functions in our body. From supporting energy production to promoting brain health and maintaining a healthy nervous system, the benefits of B complex are numerous. Let's explore some of the key advantages of incorporating B complex into your daily routine.

1. Energy Boost: B vitamins, such as B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), and B6 (pyridoxine), are involved in energy production by helping convert food into usable energy. They support the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, ensuring that our body efficiently utilizes the nutrients for energy production.

2. Brain Health: B vitamins play a vital role in supporting brain function and cognition. B6, B9 (folate), and B12 (cobalamin) are particularly important for maintaining healthy brain cells, supporting neurotransmitter synthesis, and promoting proper nerve function. These vitamins also help reduce the risk of age-related cognitive decline.

3. Mood Enhancement: B vitamins have a direct impact on our mood and emotional well-being. They are involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters, such as serotonin and dopamine, which regulate mood and emotions. Adequate levels of B vitamins can help alleviate symptoms of depression, anxiety, and stress.

4. Heart Health: Certain B vitamins, including B6, B9, and B12, help maintain healthy cardiovascular function. They play a role in regulating homocysteine levels, an amino acid that, when elevated, can increase the risk of heart disease. B vitamins also support the production of red blood cells, necessary for oxygen transport throughout the body.

5. Nervous System Support: B vitamins are essential for maintaining a healthy nervous system. They contribute to the production of myelin, a protective covering around nerves that facilitates efficient nerve transmission. B vitamins also support the production of neurotransmitters, promoting proper communication between nerves.

6. Skin, Hair, and Nail Health: B vitamins contribute to healthy skin, hair, and nails. Biotin (B7) and niacin (B3) play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and strength of our skin, hair, and nails. These vitamins help promote cell growth and repair, keeping these tissues healthy and vibrant.

7. Reduces Fatigue and Supports Stress Management: B vitamins are involved in the production of adrenal hormones that help manage stress. They also support the body's response to stress by maintaining healthy cortisol levels. Adequate B vitamin intake can help reduce fatigue, improve resilience to stress, and support overall mental and physical well-being.

8. Supports Immune Function: B vitamins, such as B6, B9, and B12, play a vital role in supporting a healthy immune system. They help in the production and activation of immune cells, supporting their function in defending against infections and illnesses.

9. Nutrient Absorption: B vitamins are necessary for the absorption and utilization of other essential nutrients, such as iron and vitamin D. Adequate B vitamin levels ensure optimal nutrient absorption and utilization, supporting overall nutrient balance and health.

10. Aging and Longevity: B vitamins, especially B6, B9, and B12, have been associated with healthy aging and longevity. They help protect against age-related cognitive decline, support cardiovascular health, and contribute to overall vitality and well-being as we age.

Incorporating a B complex supplement or consuming foods rich in B vitamins, such as whole grains, leafy green vegetables, legumes, lean meats, and dairy products, can help ensure you're getting an adequate intake of these essential nutrients. However, it's always best to consult with your healthcare provider before starting any new supplementation regimen.

Remember, while B vitamins offer numerous benefits, they are just one piece of the puzzle for maintaining optimal health. It's important to adopt a holistic approach to your well-being, including a balanced diet, regular exercise, stress management techniques, and quality sleep.

The benefits of B complex vitamins are vast and far-reaching. From supporting energy production and brain health to promoting a healthy heart, nervous system, and immune function, these essential nutrients are integral to our overall well-being. Whether you choose to incorporate B complex supplements or focus on consuming B vitamin-rich foods, prioritizing these nutrients is a step towards unlocking your full health potential.

We would like to introduce you to our newest team member and Nurse Practitioner:

LINDSAY GILLETTE

After serving as a nurse and nurse practitioner in the U.S. Navy for the past 15 years, Lindsay is bringing her skill set and experience to Boost Integrated. As our family nurse practitioner, Lindsay is spearheading our regenerative medicine services. That means targeted, responsible pain management modalities, including the use of platelet-rich protein (PRP) joint injections and trigger point injections, human cellular tissue products (HCTPs), ultra-sound diagnostics, as well as primary care services. Lindsay’s expertise gives our patients the safest, most conscientious, and most appropriate form of care for their unique circumstances.

Lindsay’s Naval career gave her a wide range of clinical experiences both on U.S. soil and abroad. Most recently she provided general primary care services to active duty and veteran families in the Pacific Northwest. Here at Boost, she’ll be honing her specialty on musculoskeletal pain management, a focus that aligns with our holistic approach to care. “Treating the whole patient is why I chose my career in nursing in the first place and I have seen that shift in the nature of patient care during the course of my career,” says Linsday. “There are a number of providers and healthcare systems that push small fixes for the immediate need, which isn't necessarily what the patient needs. I am thrilled to work alongside a team who believe in working with patients to manage the big picture when it comes to their health and wellness and provide targeted treatments where needed.”
When she’s not working, Lindsay shoulders the demanding but rewarding role of chief executive home management officer. She’s the mother of two young and energetic sons, and her husband flies for UPS and the U.S. Navy as a Naval Reserve pilot. When the family is together, they enjoy exploring their new hometown and settling into their new life as Nevadans.
