🏠 A house becomes a home through care, kindness, and community

We’re so grateful to the Aramark team for volunteering their time to help spruce up a STEP2 cottage for a mother and her children preparing to move into their new home. Their kindness and care helped create a warm, welcoming space for this family’s next chapter. ✨

Today, we celebrate all mothers--those holding their children close, those preparing to welcome new life, first-time moms, experienced moms, mothers navigating difficult days, and mothers carrying love for children they are missing today.

Motherhood takes strength, courage, sacrifice, and an endless capacity for love. It shapes families, creates hope, and has the power to change generations.

Happy Mental Health month!

For many women facing substance use disorder, healing begins when they are met with compassion, support, and the tools to care for both their mental health and long-term sobriety. At STEP2, we know that lasting recovery means addressing the whole person—because when women heal, families heal.

All smiles here! Our Interim CEO, Shannon Jensen, was honored to be invited to Renown’s Spring 2026 Grantee Meeting last week.

We’re grateful for this partnership and for Renown Health's continued support of STEP2’s mission—helping women and mothers get and stay clean and sober and break cycles of addiction. Together, we’re creating lasting change for generations to come.

Last month, STEP2 was honored to be invited to speak during Women in Construction Week at the Construction jobsite at Tahoe Reno Industrial Center. It was a meaningful opportunity to share with their thousands of workers how STEP2 empowers women and mothers to achieve and maintain sobriety.

Fortis also organized a donation drive across their team to help collect many of STEP2’s most-needed items--an incredible act of generosity that will directly support women on their recovery journey.

We are deeply grateful our ongoing partnership and thankful for their continued investment in creating lasting change for women, children, and families in our community.

STEP2’s 1st Annual Staff Easter Egg Hunt was one for the books! 🐣 150 eggs were hidden along our walking path—there was a little friendly competition and lots of laughs. Everyone walked home a winner with something sweet 🍫 but shoutout to Jess & Kim for finding the coveted golden eggs! 💛🥚🐰
