Hello! We are working on introducing a bill for medicaid covering doulas statewide and need support. Doulas reduce risks and improve outcomes and experiencess for both the pregnant person and that baby.
Access to doulas for folks on Medicaid will change lives.

Please reach out to your network for people to write in in support of doulas, ASAP.
As a doula, as a doula client, as a provider, as a parent of someone who used a doula, as a partner of someone who used a doula. ANYTHING and everything in support of doulas helps!

The letters of support should be addressed their legislator. Also, the letter should be "CC'd" to the bill sponsor and the committee chair. Here are the names of those folks:

If you email them and wouldn't mind CCing myself: info@brightheartbirth.com

Midtown Midwifery Collective created this infographic for parents to share with their pediatricians! There may be misconceptions among parents and providers as to what CPMs are able to provide for the health and safety of the babies born into our care. While we offer the testing and newborn medications that are the community standard of care, and inform parents regarding medical recommendations, we honor the process of true informed choice. That process includes sharing the research evidence, benefits, risks and alternatives, as well as what happens if we do nothing. We understand that our clients have the greatest investment in the health of their babies, and have the right to make the choices they feel are best for their baby and family. While most of our families choose the community standard of care, some do not. They have the right to do that without pressure, shame, or coercion. The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology supports this point, which should extend beyond pregnancy and delivery to parenting decisions.
