Gates Brain Health

Gates Brain Health What Makes Us Different? At Gates Brain Health we treat the whole body; starting with the brain. Functional Neurology treats the body as an integrated system.

Our holistic approach to functional neurology is focused on overall patient wellness. At Gates Brain Health, our primary focus is on the brain. Our brain based focus is involved in rehabilitating patients with traumatic brain injuries but also in how chronic stress responses emanating from the brain affect the gastrointestinal tract and the immune system.

🧠⚡️ Fun Fact Friday ⚡️🧠
Did you know information zips through your nerves at up to 268 mph (431 km/h)? That’s faster than a Formula 1 race car! 🏎️💨

Your nervous system is like the body's high-speed internet — transmitting signals from your brain to the rest of your body almost instantly. These signals help control everything from moving your muscles to reacting to pain.

What we think healing should look like vs. **what it actually looks like.**⁣

Healing — especially with chronic illness — rarely moves in a straight line. It’s full of progress, setbacks, pauses, and unexpected turns. And yes, that can be frustrating. Exhausting, even.⁣

But here’s the truth: the ups and downs don’t mean you're doing anything wrong. They mean you’re human — and healing in your own way, at your own pace.⁣

We’re here to walk that winding road with you. Through every step forward, every tough day, every small (and big) win — you don’t have to do it alone. 💚⁣

🌾🥛 Dr. Fasano’s research unveils some surprising connections between gluten, dairy, and Type 1 Diabetes. Studies suggest that both gluten and dairy proteins can trigger an autoimmune response that worsens insulin production and regulation in people with T1D. This immune system reaction could impact blood sugar control and increase inflammation, making it harder to manage the condition. Could removing gluten and dairy improve T1D management? Watch to learn more about the science and its potential effects!
