In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, we savored the flavors of Guatemala. Known as the birthplace of chocolate, Guatemalan cuisine blends Mayan tradition with Spanish influences to create vibrant and tasty dishes.

On the menu: dobladas with lettuce, queso fresco, enchiladas, refried black beans, and tres leches cake.

Connie our cook is from Guatemala so this event was extra special in recognizing her amazing food and country!

At 92, Roslyn, a resident at Atria Tarzana, still arrives early for her hospital volunteer shifts, bright blue jacket on, ready to help. At Atria Forest Hills, there is an extraordinary culinary duo leading the kitchen. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

The Director of Culinary Services, Stacey, and Cook, Javier, bring passion and creativity to every dish – from Chicken Florentine to resident favorites like meatballs and tiramisu. Stacey followed her dream of becoming a chef after studying nursing, and Javier finds joy in crafting meals from scratch and seeing residents’ smiles in return. "I really find fulfillment from positive feedback, especially from residents," Javier says.

We celebrate Stacey, Javier and all of our awesome culinary teams for the flavor, care and heart they bring to our communities every day.

Memory care residents at Atria Newport Beach had a great time making no bake mini cinnamon rolls. "They were easy to make, smelled absolutely delicious and were very tasty," reported Lucia, the community's Memory Care Director.

Residents from Atria Lincoln Place stretched and smiled alongside the adorable animals at Roots Heaven Farm.

Mel, one of the residents who attended, even came decked out in her farm finery – a pink cowgirl hat.

Christopher and his team whipped up made-to-order omelets for the community's memory care neighborhood, making sure each resident got their favorite ingredients and some face time with the chef.

Today, our community came together for a very special day filled with joy, remembrance, and celebration. We honored the memory of 9/11 with heartfelt reflections, and then embraced the spirit of unity with an all-out Carnival Extravaganza! ❤️🤍💙

Our residents enjoyed:

We know it's the little things that can make all the difference.

Javon, Resident Services Assistant at Atria Park of Ann Arbor, was awarded "Employee of the Month" for always going above and beyond for residents. His fellow teammates appreciate that he goes out of his way to make sure residents feel their best, and does it all with a smile.

Recently, he assisted Lorna to dinner and realized something wasn't quite right. "She always likes to wear her earrings and look her best," he shares. "So I went back to get them for her. She needed those earrings to feel like herself!"

We learned how hard our Guard Base works fighting the fires, taking troops on missions, supplying cargo to our troops. We support you and all that you do for our country. We truly enjoyed our afternoon!

Meet Marjorie one of our new residents and Cassie our Sales Director! Marjorie has so much love for life, was in the Navy and outranked her husband. She was a PE teacher and loved teaching the kids. She always has a smile on her face and is willing to try something new.
