If you think there’s only one “right” way to fuse the SI joint… you’re not paying attention.

We just wrapped up an SI joint fusion training in Austin Texas , focused on something our field needs more of:

Perspective.

Lateral. Posterior. Posterolateral.
Different tools. Different philosophies.

And here’s the part some people don’t like to hear:

* Yes—lateral approaches have the most mature long-term data
* And yes—posterior and posterolateral approaches have real, growing evidence behind them

Both can be true at the same time.

What doesn’t help anyone, especially patients, is this constant push to prove that one technique is superior and everything else is wrong.

That’s not science.
That’s bias.

Medicine doesn’t advance through echo chambers.

It advances through:

* Data
* Innovation
* Open-minded surgeons willing to evolve

I look at it like golf.

You don’t win by arguing which club is best.
You win by knowing which club to use and executing it well.

Same in SI joint fusion.

If you’re getting great outcomes, keep refining your craft.
But if your energy is spent dismissing other approaches instead of improving your own results…
you’re missing the bigger picture.

Appreciate the opportunity to teach and learn alongside a group committed to doing better for patients.

And credit where it’s due, SI-BONE has played a meaningful role in advancing physician education and contributing to the body of evidence that allows these conversations to happen at a higher level.

Because in the end

Patients don’t care what “approach” you believe in.
They care whether you helped them.
