I was reminded of this timeless truth during a moment of profound vulnerability. In my hour of need, I turned to a friend, clinging to the hope that a friend in need is indeed a friend. However, their response was cold and dismissive: "A friend in need is a pest, indeed."
The sting of those words cut deep, shaking my faith in the bonds I held dear. Initially, the pain was overwhelming, a bitter pill to swallow.
