An eclectic blend of traditional Hatha yoga poses are drawn from Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, Viniyoga, Ishta, Anusara, and Yin Yoga to create an invigorating workout for the mind, body and spirit. A brief meditation and guided relaxation will follow to restore energy, decrease stress and cool the body down. Class Descriptions:
Restorative Yoga
This program offers a gentle yoga session perfect for all ages, health and fitness levels. It will appeal in particular to those who want to use yoga to gently increase their range of motion over time. Pre-natal/Post-natal practitioners, seniors, practitioners with special needs, goals, injuries, disabilities, illness, stress or pain will enjoy the many benefits this class has to offer. Prana Flow Yoga
This program follows the standard format of a group fitness class. It begins with relaxation, deep breathing (Pranayama) and tuning into our bodies in their present state. Next the physical practice begins with a warm up, leads to the work then cool down and last final relaxation and meditation. The class is 50% strength and 50% stretching to provide a complete and balanced work out. The use of meditative and uplifting music throughout the class will refresh the spirit while relaxing the body and mind. Each class will work to yoke the body, breath and mind together to prepare for meditation. The class will provide instruction with several pranayama techniques (breath work) and gain general knowledge of the Yoga Sutras, Chakra system and other yogic philosophies. This class will not only satisfy, but also challenge and intrigue anyone from beginner to advanced levels of yoga. Power Yoga
This class offers a similar knowledge, style and format of the Prana Flow Yoga. However it is an aggressive athletic style that emphasizes intense strength and stretching. Power Yoga offers an aerobic appeal with more intensive cardiovascular conditioning. We build heat and sweat throughout the entire class. Power yoga enthusiasts are often jumping in and out of the poses as this class moves at a much quicker pace than the others. We are still practicing 50% strength and 50% length to provide a balanced work out. This class is also perfect for beginners to advanced students of yoga. Dhyana Flow
This is an integrative Yoga and Meditation class. It offers a 45 minute yoga session followed by a 30 minute guided meditation. For those who have always been interested in embarking on a regular meditation practice, this class will prepare the body and mind for the meditation with posturing that is specifically oriented to support the meditation that will follow. Each class will introduce a different form of meditation. It has all the components and benefits of a regular yoga practice with supportive instruction to enhance one’s own meditation practice. Private Integral Yoga Therapy
Integral Yoga Therapy provides empowerment through Core Energy Training, conditioning and Healing. The sessions are directly designed for each individual’s needs and goals. Whether you’re an athlete training, focused on a specific physical goal or seeking to heal, open, balance or strengthen the physical, mental and emotional body, the session will be constructed to fit your specific needs and desires. Yoga Therapy, through a combination of classical yoga techniques and elements of contemporary body-mind psychology, encourages this deeper connection with self. Through this deeper connection, we are able to know ourselves more fully. And out of this knowing, we are more easily moved to embrace the opportunity for change, growth and enhanced well being in body, feelings, thought, and spirit. It aids in releasing old negative patterns of consciousness. Sessions are designed to increase vitality, manage life goals, stress, pain, illness and disease.
