The dedicated group of community volunteers for the Cold Springs Family Center's Outreach program would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Washoe County Commissioner Mike Clark for his continued support and care for the Cold Springs senior community.

Once again, Commissioner Clark has generously donated $10,000 from his county discretionary funds, of which 100% helps purchase food, such as fresh produce, and clothing for Katie’s Favorites, our weekly senior food and goods distribution program.

Commissioner Clark’s ongoing commitment to seniors makes a real difference in the lives of countless community members.

Thank you Commissioner Clark for helping us keep this vital program strong and our seniors supported!

📚🎉 A huge THANK YOU to everyone who came out today for the ribbon cutting of the Cold Springs Family Center’s new Book Nook!

We’re honored to feature a stunning, hand-carved bench crafted and donated by the incredibly talented Tim Torell. Tim and his wife joined us for the celebration, along with some very special guests — Smokey Bear (happy 81st birthday, Smokey! 🐻🎂) and the amazing team from Plumas National Forest Fire Crew 316.

This new space is all about community, creativity, and connection. Stop by soon to check out the book nook, grab a book to enjoy, and see this breathtaking piece of functional art for yourself!

Something special has arrived at the Cold Springs Family Center!

We’re beyond excited to unveil a one of a kind, stunning, and functional piece of art, a handcrafted bench created and donated by the incredibly talented Tim Torell!

This beautiful bench now lives in our 'Book Nook' by the front desk, ready for the community to enjoy for years to come.

Please join us tomorrow at 10AM for a special ribbon-cutting celebration featuring none other than Smokey Bear and the artist himself! We’ll be officially dedicating the bench and opening the space for everyone to enjoy.

We’re honored to be chosen as the home for such a meaningful piece and we can’t wait for our community to see it, love it, and use it for generations.

We could really use some help restocking our canned goods for Katie's favorites, our weekly senior goods distribution. If you would like to help, we have updated our wishlist! You can shop on Amazon and it will be delivered directly to the Cold Springs Family Center. We also have our donation bins located by the front desk. Thank you all for continuing to help out our community!
