La Paloma Funeral Services

La Paloma Funeral Services Providing funeral services to all of Northern Nevada. You can count on the funeral planning staff to treat your cremation or funeral with the utmost respect.

La Paloma Funeral Services focuses on attention to detail, courtesy, and respect for the families and the deceased loved ones that pass through its home. The team is well-versed in serving families from all backgrounds, cultures, traditions, and languages. They specialize in shipping to Latin America and the Philippines but can also help with worldwide shipping and repatriation. In addition, the funeral planning team can grant any special requests, including military honors, veteran services, grief resources, and ship-out services. La Paloma Funeral Services provide full-service funeral arrangements. This includes a viewing or visitation with an open-casket option and a small or large guest list. Then, the funeral service can be held in the facility or at a church of your choice. After the funeral, you can gather at the burial grounds for a graveside ceremony where the casket is lowered into the ground. Cremation with a memorial ceremony is a popular option. A memorial looks like a funeral, but you do not have to worry about a strict timeline because there is no pressing matter of preserving a body. Alternatively, direct cremation can be chosen as a standalone without having to pay for a corresponding service. There are items to purchase with all funerals or cremations like a casket, urn, memorial, or vault. You can also be sure your loved ones military honors or veteran services will be accommodated appropriately. In addition to a funeral or memorial, you can choose a more casual option in a Life Celebration. This party-like gathering paints a picture of the persons life with hobby displays, favorite sports memorabilia, and music playing. La Paloma Funeral Services is happy to serve Reno, Sparks, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Boulder City, Mesquite, Pahrump, and Henderson families. They love to form relationships with those in the community so each family can have a trusted funeral home on speed dial if a need comes up. For pre-need funeral services or immediate planning, contact La Paloma Funeral Services. You can visit the home at 5301 Longley Ln Ste E-180 Reno, NV 89511. Anthony Duane Mitts, age 75, passed away peacefully at home on August 14, 2018. He was born on September 26, 1942 in Claremore, Oklahoma to Ellery and Luella Mitts. He moved to California in his youth, where he worked hard on farmland in the Central Valley- picking peaches, collecting almonds, shucking walnuts, rolling watermelon, harvesting apricots, husking corn, and more. Then he served his country in the United States
Navy from 1960-1964, allowing him to travel and see the world. At eighteen years of age he married his sweetheart, Alice Fay (Lawrence) Mitts and together they raised three sons. Anthony enjoyed listening to country western music, betting on the horse races, eating chocolate, and joking around with friends and strangers alike. His great joy in life was family. He will be known for his funny sayings and passing on the wisdom he gained throughout his long life. Anthony will be forever remembered by his sons, Alan D. Mitts, Brian D. Mitts, and Anthony D. Mitts Jr., along with his five
granddaughters, one grandson, and two great-granddaughters. A funeral will be held on August 28, 2018 at 10:00am at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley. The Mitts Family would like to extend our gratitude to all the staff at St. Mary’s Hospice for their loving care and heroic efforts over the last two years.
