Today was a reminder that growth does not come from easy workouts. This one pushed me, humbled me, and reminded me why hard things matter.

April is Autism Awareness Month, and this one is personal for me because autism is part of my own family.

That is one reason this month means more to me than simply raising awareness. It is a reminder of how important understanding, inclusion, support, and compassion really are.

Every person deserves to be seen, respected, valued, and given the chance to thrive as they are.

To me, this month is not just about awareness. It is also about acceptance, inclusion, and creating a world that feels safer and more supportive for everyone.

We don’t share things like this often, but this is a home we personally owned and took great care of before relocating.

It’s now available for rent (not for sale) in North Hollywood, and we’re looking for the right tenant who will truly enjoy and care for the space.

This isn’t just a property to us. It’s a home we invested in and upgraded, and we want it to go to someone who will appreciate it.

- 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
- Private gated property on a quiet cul-de-sac
- Separate guest suite with its own bathroom
- Spacious backyard with patio and fruit trees
- Weekly gardener included

If you or someone you know is looking for a place in the area, feel free to reach out or share this with them.

I’ll drop the full listing with photos in the comments.

March 26 is Purple Day, and this one is personal for me.

I live with epilepsy. It’s not something I talk about often, but it is part of my life, and it’s something I’ve had to be aware of, manage, and navigate over time.

Because when your nervous system matters, you don’t get to just ā€œpush throughā€ everything. You have to learn your body, respect your body, and work with it instead of against it. That’s also why I’m so big on doing things the right way, focusing on proper form, smart progression, recovery, and actually listening to your body instead of just grinding for the sake of it.

Purple Day is about awareness, but more importantly, it’s about understanding and removing the stigma around epilepsy. About 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed in their lifetime, so this affects more people than most realize.

If you see this today, wear purple, share this, or take a minute to learn something new.

If you’d like to learn more or support the cause, here’s the link:

And if you know someone with epilepsy, just check in. That matters more than you think šŸ’œ

OOPS, forgot to post part 1 on here before part 2. Here's part 1 for you...

Renov8 Lifeā„¢ | Strong Doesn’t Always Look Strong (Part 1)

About a week ago, I went out for a trail run that wasn’t the best one. I didn’t feel strong, and honestly, I’m tired of my soleus muscles always feeling like they’re on fire.

There was a time when I was a strong runner and never felt my calves like that. I felt light, fast, and capable. Now it feels like I’m constantly trying to manage and work around them.

I’ve done the research, I stretch, I foam roll, and I’ve been working on strengthening the supporting muscles so my calves don’t have to do all the work. But over the last five years, with surgeries and injuries, I haven’t been able to maintain the kind of consistency I used to have.

Now I’m here in Nevada, running on trails that I absolutely love, and this run was a reminder of that frustration.

I don’t just want to run. I want to feel good when I run again. I want to feel fast, strong, and capable. I don’t want my soleus muscles to be the limiting factor. I want to fly through the trails like I used to.

Strong doesn’t always look strong. Sometimes it looks like showing up and being honest about where you are.

This is Part 1 of a 3-part story from my Renov8 Lifeā„¢ series. If you’ve ever felt like your body changed before you were ready, you’re not alone. Part 2 is coming next.

Renov8 Lifeā„¢ | The Honest Truth About Hard Runs (Part 2)

That run from last week turned into more than just a physical challenge. It became an emotional one. I didn’t even realize it until I was out on the trail and had that moment where I just didn’t feel good.

Not physically, not emotionally, and not in that ā€œthis is why I runā€ kind of way.

We all have these moments. It’s normal. And I know I’ll have another trail run soon where I feel amazing, light, and happy again. But that wasn’t this run.

The truth is, it’s these tough runs that make us appreciate the good ones. There’s contrast in growth.

But it also made me reflect on something I already know. I could be more consistent with my stretching, my foam rolling, and my mobility work. I know how important it is. I tell my clients all the time.

The reality is, it’s just not exciting. There’s no adrenaline rush in mobility work. It’s not the part of training people get excited about.

And if I’m being honest, sometimes I know exactly what to do and still don’t do it.

I’m the type of person who needs accountability. I do better when someone is there expecting me to follow through.

This is Part 2 of this Renov8 Lifeā„¢ story. Part 3 is where I’ll share what I’m choosing to do next.

Renov8 Lifeā„¢ Episode 3

Once I started running, everything shifted.

My face warmed up, my body settled in, and suddenly I could just enjoy the moment.

The snow-covered landscape was beautiful, quiet, and peaceful in a way I hadn’t experienced before while running.

What started with uncertainty and freezing air turned into something pretty amazing.

First run in the snow… Done!

Sometimes the hardest part of something new is simply getting started. Once you do, everything begins to fall into place.

This Reno chapter is teaching me a new rhythm, and I’m learning to appreciate it one run at a time.

Renov8 Lifeā„¢ Episode 2

This was the moment reality hit.

Deep snow. Freezing air. Snow hitting my face. And that immediate thought of, ā€œI don’t know if I should be doing this.ā€

There’s always that split second when discomfort makes you question the decision.

Was this smart?ļæ½Is this safe?ļæ½Do I turn back?

But instead of quitting, I adjusted.

I found better gear. I grabbed my snowmobile jacket. Not a running jacket. Didn’t matter. It covered more of my face, and that’s what I needed in that moment.

Adapt first. Continue second.

This is what real-life training looks like. Not perfect conditions. Not perfect gear. Just making better decisions as you go.

And yes… It was very cold.

Renov8 Lifeā„¢ | Episode 1

Last week I shared my prep for this run. This is where the actual run began.

After layering up and checking conditions, it was time to step onto the trail and experience it in real time.

The snow was fresh. The air was crisp. The footing felt different immediately.

There’s always that moment at the start of something new when you don’t fully know how it’s going to go. You take the first step anyway.

This is what adapting looks like.

More to come in this mini-series.

If you’ve ever trained in snow, what was the first thing you noticed?

I knew this workout was going to be hard, and it delivered.

My triceps were already burning in round one, and I remember thinking, this is going to be a long 40 minutes.

It was a 3-round workout with a time cap, and part of it included the SkiErg.

What I didn’t realize until round three was that I had been doing 80 calories each round, which was the prescribed number for men. Women’s was 65 calories.

This was completely unintentional, and honestly, I’m proud of it šŸ’Ŗ I showed up ready to work, trusted my body, and followed through… Even if I didn’t follow directions šŸ˜†

Strong start to the weekend.
