Go PURPLE in June! 💜
June is National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month! Alzheimer’s is a progressive brain disorder that affects one’s memory, thinking skills and the ability to carry out normal daily tasks. This disorder is not reversible and has been determined to NOT be a normal part of aging. Although we know the cause of dementia is due to a buildup of proteins (Amyloid Plaques and Tau Tangles) in the brain, the exact cause of those buildups has not been determined. Every brain has Amyloid, and a healthy brain will break down those peptides and eliminate them. Unfortunately, an unhealthy brain will have Amyloid that begin to stick together and form plaques. These plaques have the ability to hinder brain function which may impair one’s cognitive abilities. One way to help in the healthy maintenance of brain cells is to maintain a healthy immune system! For proper ways to do that, and for the best nutritional information to maintain brain health, always speak to your physician! Too much of something can be just as harmful as not enough! Never begin supplements without the guidance of your physician!
