Have you ever wished God would explain why He let that heartbreaking rejection come your way? Why that job … that friendship … that relationship didn’t work out?

Me, too, sweet friend.

That’s why I love the encouragement we can find in the imagery of Psalm 91:4, “He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.” (NIV)

God’s covering keeps us safe, even if we can’t see the full picture of all that He is doing for us. Baby birds under their mother’s wing rarely know the full story of what happens on the outside. They don’t need to know all of the details, and I’m learning neither do we.

We just need to keep our hearts positioned close to Him in trust. He will shield us from the enemy’s darts of doubt and discouragement. And He will surround us with His reassurances and perfect love.

Instead of stressing over all of the “why” questions tonight, let’s just try resting in the shadow of His wings.

If you’re walking through the fire right now, sweet friend, I want you to know I’m so deeply sorry.

But as someone who has certainly been there before, I would also love to encourage you to remember three things:

1. Pay attention to godly wisdom. You want God’s voice to be the loudest in your life right now. Quiet the chatter. Starve the anxiety.

2. Don’t play out every worst-case scenario and get freaked out by fear. Just keep walking in ways that honor God.

3. God is more powerful than the fire. God has authority over all. And while He will allow people to make choices that hurt, He is not absent or powerless. In His time, He will rescue and refine you - this will not destroy you. ❤️Amen.

It’s so hard when someone of great significance in your life makes you feel like your belonging is more of a question mark than a security blanket. And while I don’t know who has left your heart feeling shattered, I do know Jesus. The One Who will never leave you or forsake you.

Let Him speak truth into your hollow and hurting places today, sweet friend.

You are known.
You belong.
You are important.
You are valuable.
You are secure.
And you are loved by Him. Without end.

Which of these truths about how Jesus sees you speaks the most hope to your heart today?

Friend, your circumstances may feel heavy, hard and even close to hopeless but we want to remind you today that God has never been late and He has the solutions you need. You can trust Him.

In Psalm 27:13-14 we see David proclaim even in the midst of his hard circumstances, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Even when our wait has felt far too long we can be strong and take heart by remaining confident that this season may be tough, but we will see the goodness of the Lord.

Keep your hopes on Him. He loves you and He never has, nor will ever, will He ever fail you.

We know it’s hard to keep going when your heart is heavy.

Maybe you’re carrying the weight of deep heartache, unexpected loss, or intense disappointment…

Oh, friend, we know it’s hard to keep going day after day while carrying such a heavy weight but if no one has told you lately, we will:

You’re doing better than you think you are
You’re deeply loved by a faithful and generous God
You’re going to be okay because you’re in His hands

Psalm 26:7-8 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The Lord is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.”

God’s strength will help carry the weight of all you’re facing today and He will shield you from whatever life throws your way!

It’s okay to feel hurt and confused. But don’t let your feelings lead you away from God or away from His Truth.

When it feels like all that’s left of your heart is broken pieces, you can bring them all to God. He is big enough to handle our honest feelings. He’s not afraid of our doubts or our questions. And His Truth won't leave us, even when our gut honest cries don't sound so Christian.

Let’s press into Him in those very places where we may feel tempted to pull away. Let’s ask Him to meet us and speak to us in the pages of His Word. Let’s remember that it’s better to wrestle with Truth than stay stuck in our places of turmoil.

After 15 years as a Tastefully Simple consultant and leader, I've decided to retire January 31! With the changes TS made this past fall and I no longer doing parties it just is not economical for me to continue! My love for products will not change.

A huge THANK YOU to my wonderful clients, hosts, team members, friends and family for your support these last 15 years. I couldn't have done it without you! Its been a great journey and I appreciate each one of you. If you need any of your favorites restocked before the end of the month, please let me know as I will be closing down my website then as well.
