Intra-oral tip!

While I can’t recommend drinking wine as a form of self care, if you have any wine corks laying around at home, you can find yourself a new jaw exercise!
* Place a cork from a wine bottle between your incisors. The cork should hold your mouth open almost to the limit of your ability or comfort
* At first, you may need to put the cork in sideways, progressing to a partial cork (cut one down with a kitchen knife) (partial cork not pictured) and eventually to a full cork placed vertically.
* Insert between the incisors and leave there for several minutes. At first, you’ll feel a slight stretch. Then as you leave the cork there, your muscles respond by contracting strongly, which can bring a deep aching.
* Hold on; keep the cork there for another 4-5 minutes and the muscles will fatigue and release.

Some benefits include:
• Improved jaw mobility
• Reduced muscle tension
• Pain relief (say from TMJD)

Intra Oral work can be beneficial for people that suffer from TMJD, Bruxism or Clenching, Tension Headaches, Migraines, Traumatic Injuries or Scar Tissue, Whiplash, Head-Forward Position, Scoliosis, Orthodontia/Braces, Sleep Apnea, and Voice-Related Concerns.
