It was great to see .chun back on the field tonight and secure the win! She absolute crushed her post ACLR rehab for the last 4 months, and it was great to see her hard work pay off. From not being able to hop on one leg to starting goalie on varsity, I was happy to be be part of the process! BTB FOUNDATION CLINIC I Finding Your Squat Stance I

Join us Saturday, August 21st at 12:15 pm as BTB and Volition Performance join forces to help you find your squat stance and improve your squat technique.

Have you ever been told that your feet should be shoulder width apart when you squat? If so, how did that work for you? For some, it probably works out just fine. For others, no so much. When determining a lifters squat stance, there is no tiny little box that they fit into. Squat stance is dependent on hip structure (something you can't change) and hip/ankle mobility (something you can improve). You may be spending time working on something that isn't providing the most ROI. Instead, adjusting your squat stance just might be the answer. Join us to find out what can help you obtain a stronger, better feeling squat!

Dr. Vik Somal and Coach Morgan will be spending this clinic to help lifters find their squat stance. We will identify limitations, show you how to make improvements, and make adjustments to your current stance (if needed).

This is my client Chris. Or what’s left of him after his first post-COVID workout. Went for a hard 45-50 min even though he claimed he was “fat and out of shape.” Typical athlete. He dusted COVID and then this workout.

His first priority after buying a new house was setting up a home gym and improving his overall wellness. He’s ran into his share of normal life-related obstacles, but every time it’s time to train, Chris puts in work and never shorts a single rep. He’s going to be jacked and moving well by July/August, so expect a lot of shameless shirtless pictures.

Here’s my guy Ryan squatting without issue for the first time in long time.
After cycling through a number of other healthcare providers (PTs, MDs, orthos, etc) without notable success, Ryan was referred to me by his swimming coach Dominic at . Luckily for Ryan, took personal equity in his success and helped him find better answers.
During Ryan’s first visit, he brought me the previous rehab program he was performing at the time. It was a prefabricated “menu” of 25-30 exercises for that body part that was used for everyone. I explained to him that wasn’t skilled care - that’s throwing s**t at a wall and seeing what sticks. We scrapped that program and moved forward.
Ryan and I worked together through regular communication and feedback to problem solve some of the orthopedic issues he was having. Combining education, movement modifications, and a better movement lens we made quick progress towards his goals while keeping him in the pool. We didn’t “fix” anything - Ryan is a serious athlete and a workhorse, he just needed someone to help him harness those skills and balance his movement tendencies. We still have work to do to get Ryan where he wants to be, but we’re on our way!

FOUNDATION CLINIC | Youth Squat Technique I Ages 7-14 I

We are excited to host our 2nd Youth Foundation Clinic for our current youth athletes & others in the community who may be interested in learning barbell technique.

During this clinic, we will be going over Squat technique to include both the Back Squat & Front Squat. Never used a barbell before? Don't worry, we will be using variations to teach our participants how to squat prior to getting under the barbell or PVC pipe based on readiness.

Before getting into the nuances to exercise prescription and programming, make sure you are addressing the lowest hanging fruit first - nutrition, hydration, sleep, and mental health.

That will afford you a lot more in the realm of health and wellness than good programming ever will.
