One of our patients recently shared a kind review about Melina highlighting her compassion, professionalism, and how comfortable she felt during an in-office nasal endoscopy.

Our physician assistants are a vital part of the Reston ENT team, and Melina is a great example of the skill and care they bring to our patients every day.

We’re grateful for her dedication and for patients who take the time to share their experiences.

Earlier this fall, Dr. Daniel Hwang traveled to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia with Medical Education International. He had the privilege of speaking at the Annual Meeting of the Mongolian Society of Otolaryngology and visiting the National Head and Neck Cancer Center, along with several State Central Hospitals. He is grateful to have built friendships with residents, fellows, and attending physicians who are doing inspiring work across the country.

Dr. Hwang’s biggest takeaway: good medicine is ultimately about relationships, collaboration, and a shared commitment to care for patients wherever they are.

Did you know? Your sinuses aren’t actually in your nose. They’re air-filled cavities within the bones of your skull that surround the nasal passages.

There are four main pairs:
• Frontal sinuses above the eyes
• Maxillary sinuses behind the cheeks
• Ethmoid sinuses between and behind the eyes
• Sphenoid sinuses deeper behind the nose

Understanding your sinus anatomy helps explain why congestion, pressure, and infections can feel so different from one person to another. 👃
