Spine Twisting/Ardha-Matsyendrasana
TIPS for improving posture:
- Lenghen Your Spine first: Inhale and stretch your spine upwards, creating space between each vertebra. This is important before twisting.
Hip Alignment:
Keep both hips planted on the floor.
Breathing:
Inhale as you lift/elongate your spine.
Exhale as you twist.
Arm Placement:
Beginners can position arm behind back to maintain a straight spine. To deepen the twist, as you progress your arm can wrap around your back to grab the thigh
