Since 2021, she has been working in the eating disorder field, providing compassionate support grounded in evidence-based nutrition. Sam is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive space for all bodies. She believes in the "all foods fit" approach and empowers clients with the knowledge and tools they need to navigate recovery with confidence.

We are so excited to welcome Veronica back to Mood Balance Nutrition, LLC!

Veronica Burgess, RDN, LD has experience in clinical and university campus nutrition, different levels of care for eating disorders, diabetes, and general nutrition counseling. Veronica believes all foods fit and food is fuel and to be enjoyed in all settings with friends, family and co-workers. She especially enjoys working with clients to improve their relationship with food including those who are active in the fitness space, clients with PCOS and women in different stages of motherhood.

Veronica sees clients in the Herndon, VA office. She also offers virtual appointments.

We are so lucky to have had Megan Morrison with Mood Balance Nutrition for almost 3 years now. Megan is a graduate of James Madison University and holds a degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. She completed her dietetic internship at Virginia Commonwealth University with a focus in Medical Nutrition Therapy.

After graduation, Megan worked in clinical nutrition gaining experience in treating and managing a variety of conditions over the lifespan. Megan’s true passion lies in treating those with eating disorders, and she has been pursuing that passion treating individuals at the PHP/IOP levels of care. Megan is passionate about helping others heal their relationship with food through an “all foods fit” approach and Health at Every Size (HAES) mentality.

Megan is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Megan currently sees patients virtually and at our Virginia Beach location.

For our first clinician spotlight of 2025, we are thrilled to shout out our amazing Melissa Stitt. Melissa just celebrated 6 years with Mood Balance Nutrition. Melissa is a weight-inclusive, Health At Every Size® aligned, and all-foods-fit Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor. She believes food is much more than fuel—it can bring joy, pleasure, comfort, and memories, and help us build connections with others. Unfortunately, the intuitive and peaceful relationship with food that we are all born with can be eroded by diet culture, eating disorders, and weight stigmatization. She has experience working with individuals at the inpatient, partial hospitalization program (PHP), and intensive outpatient (IOP) levels of care. Since 2019, Melissa has been working at the outpatient level of care with Mood Balance Nutrition. She strives to provide a safe, judgment-free space for all people and is an LGBTQIA+ Ally. Melissa sees clients in the Gainesville office and virtually. She is licensed in West Virginia
