Despite efforts to fund the government for fiscal year (FY) 2026, Congress could not reach an agreement on a short-term continuing resolution (CR) or final FY 2026 appropriations before the September 30 deadline. This lapse in appropriations triggered a government shutdown, and at this time, it’s unclear when and how Congress will reopen the government. Peter Filip, MD; Dana Crosby, MD; Kara Detwiller, MD; Kent Lam, MD; and Mona Patadia, MD have developed a terrific panel discussion around endotypes of chronic sinusitis.

The panel will take place on September 15th at 8:00PM EDT. It will review the utility of CRS endotyping in clinical as well as research settings and their relevance to classical phenotypes, pathophysiology, and immunology. The discussion will also encompass the practicalities of endotyping, the necessary institutional infrastructure, and panelist preferences. Lastly, the panel will focus on recalcitrant chronic sinusitis and highlight real cases that help elucidate role of endotyping in practical settings as a potential driver for further surgical management, medical therapy, and the use of biologics.
