At CHA, you can see our commitment to community health outside clinic walls. Our Saturday Revere Mobile Market volunteers served 576 bags of free food to 2332 participants: 1330 adults, 750 children and 251 seniors. Recipients received fresh beets, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow squash, lettuce, limes, green peppers, apples, and oranges, along with peanut butter, brown rice and beans. We also provided free hypertension screenings to 66 people. Educational information and recommendations to seek care with their provider were discussed with each person. Thank you to our partners The Greater Boston Food Bank and Point32Health. We hope to see you at the next market on August 2!

Community Health Worker training starts in September! The goal of the CHW training program is to engage, train and empower people to improve the health of their communities. This free training covers the core competencies outlined by the state and meets the program requirements set by the Massachusetts Board of CHWs. CHA’s training also includes Mental Health First Aid, Motivational Interviewing and more. The course is 8 weeks in-person training, starting September 16 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. More information and registration: https://buff.ly/GCM4E2P
