Madisonhealth

Madisonhealth Madisonhealth is eastern Idaho’s premier healthcare system, with eight robust clinics working together to provide exceptional care across the region.

The Madison Memorial brand has been well loved throughout the community. Over the years, we've enjoyed great respect and recognition. But we're growing. We're more than a hospital now. We're two of the most robust medical clinics in the area. We're a technologically advanced surgery center. We're an orthopedics practice. A radiology clinic. A rehabilitation center. A Huntsman-affiliated cancer car

e center. And so much more. Our team is more than 700 strong, all of us collaborating to inspire healthy living in our community. And we're joined by a network of 270 providers. "Hospital" no longer describes us. We're a system. We are Madisonhealth.

🌼 Today, we are incredibly honored to celebrate Kris Peterson, RN, as the recipient of Madisonhealth’s very first DAISY Lifetime Leadership Award. 🌼

Some people lead with authority.
Some lead with experience.
And then there are the rare leaders who lead with compassion, humility, advocacy, and heart in every single interaction.

Kris is one of those people.

Throughout her nominations, one theme kept rising to the surface again and again: the impact she has on the people around her is profound.

“She empowers. She uplifts. She creates space for others to become more than they thought possible.”

One teammate shared:

“Kris didn’t just develop my role — she changed how I see myself.”

Another wrote about the way Kris constantly advocates for both patients and staff, always making sure people feel heard, supported, and cared for.

“She worries about her team, their safety while providing care, and the satisfaction and outcomes of the patient.”

Whether she’s helping on the floor during staffing shortages, stepping in at the front desk so someone can take lunch, mentoring new team members, improving systems behind the scenes, or simply taking the time to truly listen — Kris leads by example every single day.

Her leadership has helped shape careers, build confidence, strengthen teams, and create a culture rooted in kindness, trust, and compassion.

One nomination included a line that perfectly captures her impact:

“I no longer come to work asking, ‘How do I get through today?’ Because of her leadership, I now ask, ‘What can we build for tomorrow?’”

That kind of leadership changes people.
And in healthcare, it changes patient care too.

Kris, thank you for the countless lives you’ve touched — not loudly, not for recognition, but through the quiet, consistent, meaningful way you show up for others every day.

You are deeply respected, deeply appreciated, and so deserving of this honor. 💛🌼

Congratulations on becoming Madisonhealth’s first DAISY Lifetime Leadership Award recipient.

🎉💙 It’s Hospital Week at Madisonhealth 💙🎉

This year feels especially meaningful as Madison Memorial Hospital celebrates 75 years of caring for this community.

This week, we celebrate the beautiful humans who make healing happen every single day.

From early mornings to late nights…
From lifesaving moments to comforting conversations…
From the people you see at the bedside to the teams working quietly behind the scenes…

Every role matters.
Every act of kindness matters.
Every person matters.

For 75 years, Madison Memorial Hospital has been part of life’s biggest moments—offering healing, comfort, hope, and compassionate care close to home.

Healthcare is more than medicine. It’s compassion, teamwork, resilience, hope, and humanity showing up for one another—even on the hardest days.

To our providers, nurses, CNAs, therapists, housekeeping teams, registration staff, lab, imaging, dietary, maintenance, administration, volunteers, and every single employee who helps care for our community: thank you. Your dedication changes lives in ways both seen and unseen.

And to our patients and community—thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you through some of life’s biggest moments. It is an honor we never take lightly.

Please help us celebrate Hospital Week and 75 years of Madison Memorial Hospital by showing some love to the healthcare heroes who make Madisonhealth such a special place. 💙

🍎💙 Celebrating Those Who Teach, Care, and Show Up Every Day 💙🍎

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week and Nurse Appreciation Week, our Madisonhealth Education Department took a moment to give back to the incredible educators in our community. ✨

As part of a recent service project, this amazing team came together to create 19 field trip first aid kits for local middle schools—helping ensure students stay safe while they explore, learn, and grow. 😊

Because whether in a classroom or at the bedside, education and care go hand in hand—and both deserve to be celebrated.

To our educators and nurses: thank you for the knowledge you share, the lives you impact, and the compassion you bring into the world every single day. 💙

🌟 Employee Spotlight: Meet Heather Burrell! 🌟

Heather began her Madisonhealth journey in Client Services Billing for Laboratory Services, and today she serves as our American Heart Association Regional Training Center Coordinator.

In her role, Heather leads training center operations, supports instructors, and helps ensure high-quality, compliant CPR and life support education for our community. But for Heather, it’s about more than teaching a skill — it’s about helping people find the courage to act in life’s most critical moments.

“I want every person I teach to walk away not just with skills, but with the confidence to use them.”

Heather shared that her growth at Madisonhealth has been shaped by opportunities to learn and the strong relationships she’s built along the way. Her favorite memories are rooted in those everyday moments of connection — the friendships, encouragement, laughter, and support from fellow staff members.

And a fun fact? Heather has been painting holiday windows since her kids were little, bringing a little extra magic to the Christmas season year after year. 🎨✨

Heather, thank you for the confidence you build, the care you give, and the heart you bring to Madisonhealth. We’re so grateful for you! 💙

🌟 A Triple Threat of Kindness at the Rexburg Soup Kitchen 🌟

In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, our Social Services team showed up with full hearts at the Rexburg Soup Kitchen—and the community showed up right alongside them. 💙

Lunch was generously donated by our friends at our very own Paragon Cafe, and for those needing a meal later, Madisonhealth helped make sure no one went without—serving up tacos to-go for dinner. 🌮

Because sometimes, caring for mental health starts with meeting basic needs: a warm meal, a friendly face, and a reminder that you’re not alone.

This week truly felt like a triple threat—community partners, compassionate care, and meaningful connection all coming together in one space.

To everyone who helped make today happen—thank you for being part of something bigger. For showing up. For seeing people. For making a difference. 💫

Happy Nurses Week to the beautiful humans who are the heartbeat of Madisonhealth. 💙

You’re there in the quiet moments…
the hard conversations…
the deep breaths before the next room…

You carry more than charts and medications—
you carry stories, fears, hope, and healing.

And somehow, through it all, you still find ways to comfort, to laugh, to connect.

We see you.
We appreciate you.
We are endlessly grateful for you.

If a nurse has ever made a difference in your life (and we’re willing to bet they have 💙), drop a comment below and share the love.

✨ Honoring a life of compassion, one final time. ✨
At the end of a nurse’s journey, there is a story worth remembering… one of care, sacrifice, and unwavering dedication to others.
That’s where the Eastern Idaho Nurse Honor Guard steps in. 💙
This incredible volunteer group provides a final tribute for nurses—offering a ceremonial “final roll call” at funerals and memorials, recognizing a life spent caring for others. It’s a beautiful, meaningful moment… one that ensures their legacy is never forgotten.
The Madison Memorial Hospital Foundation is incredibly proud to help support this program and the mission behind it. We are especially proud to have some of our own Madisonhealth nurses participating in this meaningful work—serving with compassion, dignity, and heart.
We’re also excited to help grow this effort across the region, so more nurses and families can experience this powerful tribute.
Because nurses don’t just care for us in life…they deserve to be honored in their passing, too. 🤍
📣 We’re currently helping recruit nurses to join the Honor Guard and continue this important work.
If you feel called to serve in this way—or want to learn more—reach out:📱 208-351-1716 or 208-681-1461
Let’s come together to honor those who gave so much. 💙
