Yoga, Pray and Play:
Contemplation and Mindfulness
October 15 – 18, 2021
Linwood Spiritual Center
Rhinebeck, NY
“Contemplative practice is a receptive practice. We make ourselves available for grace to break in; we open ourselves to listen and ponder. . . .,” says Fr. Richard Rohr. Join us for a time of contemplation and mindfulness practice. We will do gentle yoga, Centering Prayer and meditation, movement, explore prayer through the mind and the body and allow what is wanting to emerge to be known to us. We will also explore uncertainty and resilience at this time in the world.
Mindfulness practices of body awareness, loving kindness meditation, breathing techniques, here/now presencing and some guided imagery will be explored and practiced. Participants can walk by the river, explore the grounds, walk the labyrinth, sit on the many benches or swing at the pavilion and take in the beauty of the autumn foliage. Rest your mind, relax your body and rejuvenate your soul with yoga, prayer and contemplation.
Periods of silence will offer participants an opportunity to reconnect to themselves and to God. The yogic lifestyle involves living more mindfully and holistically in every aspect of our lives. This retreat welcomes beginners as well as experienced yoga practitioners. Please wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a journal and a mat.
