Huge 5k in San Diego going on to support medical research for SCAD. Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) is a little-known and poorly understood cause of a heart attack. Most patients are young, healthy, and active women who do not have the typical risk factors of heart disease. Although less common, it can affect men too. SCAD can reoccur and can be fatal. Research is needed to identify the cause(s) and the best treatment options.
SCAD is the #1 cause of heart attacks in women under age 50, pregnant women & new moms.
Thanks for your support.
The San Diego 5K SCADaddle for Research is on Friday September 5, 2025 to Saturday September 6, 2025. It includes the following events: 5K, SCAD Social Reunion & Dinner & SCADaddle 5K Bundle, and Social Reunion & Dinner.

Meet Dr. Greg Michals
From an early age, Dr. Michals knew he had a passion for Chiropractic care. After a series of car accidents, Dr. Michals found himself in a chiropractor’s office for the first time. There, he received the care he needed to recover without the use of drugs. From that point on, he knew his true passion in life.
After high school, he went on to the University of Wisconsin- Lacrosse, where he graduated with a degree in medical biology and a minor in chemistry. For the next four years, Dr. Michals dedicated his life to learning about chiropractic care, philosophy and techniques at Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota.
Dr. Michals practices the Gonstead method of chiropractic analysis. As any good engineer, architect, carpenter, or builder knows proper foundation in construction is serious and influential in insuring a buildings durability and longevity. The Gonstead concept of Chiropractic begins with this basic biomechanical principle of physics. The Gonstead procedures originated from the extensive clinical research by Clarence S. Gonstead. Founding the world famous Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin, Dr. Gonstead practiced for over fifty-five years. His work resulted in the most complete method of biomechanical analysis available for use by doctors of chiropractic today.
Dr. Michals was one of the youngest chiropractic students to have competed the prescribed 100 hour course of study in the most advanced work in the Gonstead system of chiropractic at the same Gonstead Clinic in Mount Horeb. In addition to his honor, he also completed his certification for advanced study and achievement in Sherman philosophical principles from Sherman college of Chiropractic and The Academy of Chiropractic Philosophers. Dr. Michals is also board certified by the state of Wisconsin for nutrition and nutritional needs.
To learn more about the newer advances in chiropractic care, Dr. Michals constantly continues his education and understanding on the wellness of the human body. He is currently an active member of the Gonstead Methodology Institute and Gonstead Seminars.
Doctor Michals relocated with his wife and dog to Rhinelander, Wisconsin in May of 2015 and acquired McKitrick Chiropractic in August 2015 renaming the office, Rhinelander Chiropractic SC. Since becoming a part of the Rhinelander community he is also an active member of Rotary Club.
