When the days grow shorter and the nights linger a little longer, Scandinavians don’t fight the darkness- they befriend it. 💛
In the heart of long, cold winters, they practice hygge: a way of creating cozy contentment through candlelight, warm drinks, soft blankets, and meaningful connection. Darkness isn’t seen as something to fear, but as an invitation to slow down, turn inward, and nurture warmth- both around us and within us.
What if we learned to do the same?
Instead of resisting the dark or cold seasons of life, we can reframe them as opportunities for rest, reflection, and deeper connection. A shift in mindset- lighting a candle, creating a cozy corner, sharing quiet moments with loved ones- can gently support our mental health and sense of peace.
There is beauty in the dark. There is comfort in the cold. And sometimes, the light we need most is the one we create for ourselves.

Cornerstone Clinic in Rice Lake is offering a new Seeking Safety group for adults who want practical tools to feel more stable, in control, and supported.

This group focuses on:
• Coping skills for stress and tough emotions
• Reducing substance use and harmful behaviors
• Healing from trauma at your own pace
• Safety, respect, and zero judgment

You do not need a PTSD diagnosis. You don’t have to share more than you’re comfortable with. Just showing up is enough.

Our focus is on listening, understanding your situation, and working with you on realistic changes—whether that means cutting back or stopping completely. You don’t have to wait for a crisis or “rock bottom” to ask for help.

We have groups!! These groups are telehealth here in Rice Lake as they are in-person at the Plover location. Here's the process for joining:
1. Call to become a patient (which includes us checking your insurance information)
2. Complete paperwork
3. You will be called for an intake
4. Ask to join the group you're interested in!

Just that simple! We accept 40+ insurances including Medicaid and Medicare. Please share and spread the word! 📣
