Watch the full conversation on how your body was created to thrive, and Forged to Heal! šŸ’¬āœØ

This panel brought together powerful voices in healing, faith, and functional care — reminding us that restoration isn’t about fixing what’s broken, but awakening what was already designed to work in harmony.

One more for good measure!✨ week I joined on her podcast to talk about one of my favorite topics — the mouth-body connection. 🧠🦷

One of my patients had cysts removed from her ovaries… and her gum pain disappeared. 🤯

Nothing in the body works in isolation — your mouth tells the story of your overall health.
That’s why true dentistry goes beyond the teeth.

šŸŽ§ Tune in to our full conversation for more ā€œwait, WHAT?!ā€ moments about how your oral health mirrors your whole-body health.

Once a tooth has a cavity, it’s much harder for it to rebuild itself—though not impossible, we haven’t seen a fully reversed case yet on a larger cavity. 😬

If the decay is still confined to the enamel—the hard, shiny outer layer of your tooth—there’s a good chance we can strengthen it. With a proper remineralization protocol, supporting your oral microbiome, eating well, and maintaining good oral hygiene, your enamel can become stronger and more resilient. šŸ’ŖšŸ¦· Did you know this?

It’s always inspiring to see how the future of dentistry and whole-body health continues to evolve.

#1. The Mouth-Body Connection:
Oral health doesn’t exist in isolation — it mirrors the body’s overall state, from inflammation to gut health.

#2. Airway-Centered Dentistry:
Tongue ties, jaw growth, and nasal breathing shape more than faces — they shape lifelong health.

#3. Reversing Early Decay Naturally:
With the right conditions — diet, minerals, and saliva balance — not every cavity needs a drill.

#4. The Power of the Microbiome:
True oral health isn’t about sterilizing the mouth; it’s about restoring microbial harmony.

#5. Prevention Over Production:
Teaching patients why disease happens prevents more problems than any restoration ever could.

#6. *Bonus* Leadership and Entrepreneurship:
Success in dentistry isn’t just about skill — it’s about vision, communication, and the courage to redefine what dental care can be.
Dental school gives us a foundation, but not the framework for true healing.

Most of what we’ve learned about the connection between oral health and the rest of the body came after graduation — through patients, research, and faith.

The moment you start seeing the mouth as part of a living system — not a separate mechanical space — everything changes. You stop chasing symptoms and start restoring balance. That’s where real dentistry begins.
We're glad you're here.

🦷 Dentistry doesn’t need more chemicals — it needs more truth.
Fluoride, root canals, and ā€œgenetic cavitiesā€ are myths that keep people sick and misinformed.
Your mouth can heal when you give it the right environment — not when you numb it with toxins. 🌿

🧓 Sealants aren’t ā€œprotectionā€ — they’re plastic.
Most contain BPA, a hormone disruptor that leaches into your child’s body every time they eat or drink.
You can’t seal health into a tooth — you have to build it from the inside out. 🌿

10/16/2025

🧬 Only about 10% of cavities are genetic.
The rest? Diet, minerals, mouth habits, and environment.
Your genes load the gun — your lifestyle pulls the trigger. šŸ’„

10/15/2025

🦷 Still using fluoride, colleagues? It’s 2025 — we can do better.
Fluoride isn’t prevention. It’s a neurotoxin dressed as protection.
Time to evolve dentistry.

šŸ Sugar is your mouth’s #1 enemy — not bacteria, not genetics.
Every sip, every snack feeds decay.
If you want healthy teeth, start by breaking up with sugar.

About Dr. Engram

After her own personal health struggles with an autoimmune disease, Dr. Engram shifted her practice philosophy to focus on whole-body health, and the prevention and safer treatment of oral disease. As a general dentist focused on holistic and biological dentistry, Dr. Engram is a member of AAOSH (the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health), HDA (Holistic Dental Association), IAOMT (International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology), and the IABDM (International Academy for Biological Dentistry and Medicine). She is SMART certified in safe amalgam removal through the IAOMT, and is currently working on additional accreditation through this organization. She is a certified Integrative Health Coach through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Locally, Dr. Engram is a supporting member of the Dallas Holistic Chamber.

Dr. Engram grew up in Hillsboro, Texas, where she met her future husband, and graduated second in her high school class. She attended Texas Christian University, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor of science degree in biology. She obtained her doctorate degree at Baylor College of Dentistry.

Dr. Engram is married, and she and her husband, Bryan, have two elementary-age daughters. Bryan is CEO of Brazen Animation in Dallas, Kate is a talented budding artist, and Grace is a spitfire who will be in charge of something or someone, in whatever path she chooses.
