We have now partnered with Continuum to help enroll individuals with dementia and who are Original Medicare recipients into the GUIDE program to support them and their family caregivers. There is $2,500 a year given to provide respite care at home, adult day or at a senior living place. The assessment takes 30-50 mins at home or apartment where the patient is. Dear patients and families, ride yours or your loved one's health with persistence. Many Alzheimer's patients get misdiagnosed. This journey "Doreen Monks – The Emotional Journey of Alzheimer’s and Dementia" is an amazing story of courage. On average, it takes 7 years for a patient to be given the right diagnosis by a neurologist related to dementia. There are many forms of dementia. Get the right scans early on - MRI, CT scan, Pet scan and EEG because the structure and functions are not easily seen with one scan. Is it alzheimer's, frontotemporal dementia, vascular, wernicke-korsakoff, primary progressive aphasia, chronic traumatic encephalopathy, etc.
