As a new injector dosing can get overwhelming but most clients fall within these ranges of doses.
There will always be exceptions and some clients will need more or less.
& Some need different amounts on each side of the face or muscle. Assess, Assess and Reassess!

REMEMBER- its always better to be conservative. You can always add but you can’t take away ☝🏼

A few mistakes you want to avoid as injectors:
𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐃𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐧𝐬
Dose equals duration, be sure you are adequately dosing your clients to the neurotoxins last 3 months

𝐑𝐮𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭
In order to properly assess and understand the concerns of your clients allow for 45 mins per consult! This gives you time to education clients on their treatment options as well as create that personal connection

Injecting temples can be intimidating- it’s so important to learn the anatomy before injecting any area.
Proper assessment of your clients anatomy is key to success when injecting into the temples!

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙞𝙨 𝙐𝙧𝙗𝙖𝙣𝙚 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙮? 💕

Urbane academy is a mentorship/introduction into the aesthetics world of nursing!

During your 3 months of training you will learn the basics on injectables and advance your skills and knowledge throughout the program! The program is customizable to meet each students needs and learning styles!

We begin the first month focusing on neurotoxins- how they work, placement, techniques, indications, complications, and hands on experience.

During the 2nd month (maybe sooner) we introduce fillers. You will learn indications, assessments, different types of filler, proper placement, how to avoid/manage any complications, & continue to gain more hands on experience.

The 3 month is tailored for what the student is needing more hands on experience with. We continue to build on the skills from the previous months and add in new skills as well as focus on leading consults and proper treatment plans for each patient.

During this process you will be able build your own portfolio of work!

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗮 & 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲 𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲

Our previous videos on cannula we mentioned the different sizes of cannula… here’s a better look of various sizes (different lengths available as well)

As we have mentioned before- it’s suggested to use a 25g cannula or smaller. The reason for this is that a 27g cannula can puncture an artery as easily as a needle, which means more risk for product placement into an artery.

The pilot needle is a larger needle inserted to create the entry hole for the cannula.
It’s important when inserting the pilot to assess placement/angle for depth to help yourself get into the correct plane to place product.

• 21g pilot needle for a 22g cannula
• 23g pilot needle for a 25g cannula (25g needle for a visual comparison)

Advice from Emma :
“Although you may have mastered your current specialty- this is a different field! From holding the syringe to drawing up botox- You need to be ready to learn and put in the work. This career isn’t any less stressful of a nursing path. There’s a lot that goes into place- patient selection, product selection, technique, patient education and the dreaded… potential complication management! It’s a rewarding field but you’ve got to put in the work to get where you want to be! “

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗮 💉💕
Let’s take a moment to discuss the learning curve with Cannulas.
This technique is something we encourage all injectors to learn!

It can be frustrating and challenging in the beginning. You just have to keep practicing it and be patient with yourself.

Understanding the anatomy of the vessels, muscles, and bone are critical. It is also important to know the depths and layers and being able feel the difference of the different planes you are injecting- it can allow you to give your clients some amazing results as well as minimize the risk of bruising. 🙌🏼

One big controversial topic with regards to Cannula vs Needle is the risk of Arterial Occlusion. Based on the lasted EBP Paper our CEO wrote, there is no research to support that needles are more likely to cause arterial occlusion over Cannula. Current research does support that cannulas have a lower risk of bruising.

When using a cannula it is suggested to only use 25g and lower. Studies have found that a 27g cannula is the same as using a needle and in cadaver studies reported it can puncture the artery same as needle.
