Today, we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Jackson (1941–2026), a tireless advocate for justice, dignity, and collective liberation. As a minister, organizer, and global voice for civil rights, Reverend Jackson dedicated his life to expanding the promise of democracy for those too often pushed to its margins. From the Civil Rights movement years alongside Dr. King to his work through the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and beyond, his voice carried both conviction and hope.

During Black History Month, we reflect on leaders whose courage shaped our present and challenged us to imagine a more just future. Dr. Maya Angelou recognized Reverend Jackson’s cultural and political impact in her 1978 poem “Ain’t That Bad?”, celebrating a generation of Black brilliance, confidence, and power. May we honor his legacy not only in remembrance, but in action. 🕊️ Rest in power.
